Our authentic Italian in Peapack, NJ is prepared by a world-class chef, trained in the traditions of classic Abruzzese cooks. Martino Asagjeka cooks from the heart and takes pleasure in crafting every meal to the very highest standards. He has been a chef for more than three decades, working in some of the finest restaurants and steakhouses in the region, including high-end venues in New York City.

Chef Asagjeka puts the quality of food and the integrity of traditional preparation above all else. He cooks everything to-order using only the best in locally-sourced, fresh ingredients. From making pasta by hand to plating and presentation, everything is as much art as it is cuisine with chef Asagjeka in our kitchen!

Had a nice dinner with friends. Love that this place is a BYOB. Food was very good and the pre-dinner "extras" a nice touch. I wish the Specials for the evening included prices. Tables a little tight/close together, but this is a charming old house set up. A bit noisy at prime time. Overall a nice dinner.

We waited an hour to get our dinners although we had a reservation. Also, our waiter was extremely rude. When we said we would share an appetizer he told us "No, it's not big enough". Not true! It was plenty big! When we complained that we had to wait too long to be served he hissed "It's because of the pandemic. We can't get enough help." Easy fix for that: Remove some of the tables!

Service was very good but food was disorganized. I’ve eaten here before and food was good but not today. Five out of 6 of us were disappointed in our entrees. Prices have gone up too so really not worth it

Il Monello never misses- the food is spectacular and the service is the best! I even order a last minute tray of eggplant rollatini for Easter and they had it ready for me to go after dinner. We have also had a private event there and it was great also!

This place NEVER disappoints. It’s like dining in Italy. The staff and service is supreme. Will go back again, and again, and again!
