Proudly local and family-owned, we serve elevated comfort food including wood-fired pizza and rotisserie fare in the heart of Downtown San Mateo (located inside a historical train station!). Try local favorites like our signature pizzas, prime ribs and roast chickens, as well as many vegan and vegetarian-friendly dishes to choose from. Our indoor and outdoor dining are open, so come experience our grand main dining room or dine outside in our state-of-the-art heated covered patio -- kids love watching the trains go by!     Excellent food and service! Always a bit noisy with the trains rolling through but that’s to be expected! Always a good experience!

    Love their pizzas, buffalo chicken wings and Brussels sprouts. Reasonably priced and a nice atmosphere. We come to Rise regularly!

    The food was pretty good, the waitress was rushed but pleasant, the place gets noisy. The worst thing however is my husband seeing a worker not washing hands after bathroom use when we were already done. Can’t come back here after that.

    A great time, good food, great ambiance as well. Our foursome had a great time albeit it is noisy because of the trains but that is to be expected !

    Seated in patio for early dinner. Good Margarita. Good Negroni. Carne pizza, good but could have been a bit more crisp in center. Beef ribs outstanding. Cole slaw not very exciting. Fries not crisp, undercooked. Presentation good. Attentive professional service by server, excepting one runner: surly, disinterested and showed it. The good things though outweighed the few bad things. Will return again. Good experience.

    I can’t say enough good things about Rise! The moment you step in, you can smell the wood-fired oven working its magic. The pizzas are beyond delicious—perfectly crispy crust, fresh ingredients, and that irresistible combination of flavors. We also had the burrata salad, which was out of this world! The creamy burrata, paired with ripe tomatoes and a drizzle of balsamic, was the perfect start to the meal. This spot is an absolute must-try if you're a pizza lover, and that burrata salad is a game-changer! Will definitely be coming back! My daughter absolutely loved being able to see Caltrain on the tracks!

    Good food. Pizza is amazing! Salads delish. We sat outside so had the noise of the trains, but it wasn’t bad. Will go back for sure
