    Join Jen, Beth and their friends for a special anniversary party, celebrating 20 years of operation at this iconic downtown location. Eight of Denver's best chefs and eight beverage experts will be on hand to show off their signature selections and join the festivities. This is a reception style event, not our typical wine dinner. Purchased tickets provide access to the party, food, drinks and an opportunity to celebrate Rioja's success over the last 20 years and toast to continued success in the years ahead. Proceeds to benefit the Denver Center for the Performing Arts.

    Wouldn’t go back. Food was meh and service wasn’t great. Many other better places to eat at in Denver.

    Delicious short rib, incredible chocolate and orange mousse, wonderful wine list. Loved the service, ambience and entire evening.

    Amazing. Indescribable service and food. One of the best dinning experiences we’ve ever had. From the appetizers to the main course and desert was all incredible. Thank you.

    Worked in food service most of my life. I was served a luke-warn short rib dish. My wifes food was steaming. By the time I went for my second bite it wasn't even warm. Asked the server if this is how it was supposed to be. They apologized and took it back and said "the chef doesn't want to cook it too much or it will dry out"(a short rib really? its supposed to be braised and warmed through). Waited 15 minutes and was served another one, just above room temperature(85ish F) again. Didn't feel like waiting another 15 minute for the same result so I just started eating it. They saved the fatty one for complaints I guess as this one was 60% fat. Not marbled, just chunks of fat. Wish I had the first one back... I was really disappointed with the whole experience and expected more from a well established restaurant. we had to flag someone down for second round of drinks and we were basically ignored after I sent the dish back. I am someone who doesn't send food back. It was simply just needed a reheat. I thought they would just toss it in the salamander or in a pan with some stock to bring it up to temp. instead they waited 15 min and plated the worst cut of short rib I've ever seen. Also at room temp.

    Rioja's been getting rave reviews for years and deservedly so. We're out-of-towners but we dined here about 7 or 8 years ago and knew it would be on our list for a return visit. It didn't disappoint. Nothing to add here that hasn't been said before. It's a sure shot.

    My go-to dining spot for business lunches. They never fail to provide attentive service, and delicious plates to satisfy all sorts of diets. Dining room is lovely.

    Each time we go to Rioja we are reminded what great cooking is and how fun it can be. Every time we go the meal is like a personal concert for your tastebuds that makes you want to come back for more. Balanced food with great service, and Justin (our waiter) was so kind and welcoming! Just terrific.

    Feel like there's a lot of miscommunication, definitely did not want a second glass of wine but was given a second glass of wine and charged for it. It felt a little forced, I did stop the server staring at the glass of wine with displeasure, but decided against sending wine back out of respect. Most servers would be quick to notice, but again, my fault because I did say never mind. Food was good, but definitely on the lower scale in relations to fine dining in my opinion, nothing really stands out. Our first experience was much better than our second experience. It might just be different during different seasons. Overall, still worth trying.
