Named in honour of the grapes from the vineyard it overlooks, Restaurant Merlot is a natural meeting place where many a tale is told – some as tall as the distant alpine peaks themselves. We ate twice at Merlot for dinner; the first time all was very good. However the second time both my wife and my mail courses were very poor. Slow cooked lamb shoulder was dry and very chewy; my medium rare steak first turned up blue and then when recooked was chewy and barely edible. Staff were very apologetic and removed the charge from the bill. Such a shame.

We celebrated our anniversary at Melot Restaurant. The food, wine, and service were exceptional.

Service was quite slow. We did not receive our meal until at least an hour after we were seated. Some glitch with the ordering system apparently but given the restaurant was not overflowing the chef should have been a little suspect no orders were flowing in. Food was ok but overpriced. Staff very friendly and welcoming.

We had an exceptional dinner at Merlot Restaurant. Everything was perfect. Honestly one of best dining experienced we’ve had in a long time!! Absolutely 5 stars from us!

Unfortunately food was average at best, and very poor value for money, taking into account there us a 5 star restaurant only 200m up the road.

$85 for 2 courses, one expects a very nice meal. The cooking was very good but when you get only 2 prawns in the entree, plus a.meagre leaf of vegie to accompany, it seems the restaurant is really looking at its margins. Plus $13 for any side dish. Besides the table and chairs their, the management really needs to put some effort into making this area more appealing to match the prices, or are they just trying to match the minimalist approach to their food with the lack of furnishings?

We enjoyed a quiet evening on a Thursday night. Food was great and it was nice to be able to meet and chat with Elena the chef. Our waitress Cassie was very attentive at the table and at the bar. We would have no hesitation in eating there again, when we are back in the area.

The steak was ordered as medium/rare but came out too rare it tasted good though abut the bacon in the morning was dreadful. the eggs were lovely

Breakfast and coffee were great. Was expecting a better dinner experience after spending $250.00 for 2 people. Staff were nice but unprofessional. Restaurant almost empty and no atmosphere.

Good mains - perfectly cooked, good quality steak and chicken, good flavour combinations (though the mushrooms with th3 steak lacked flavour). Entrees were very average - scallops seemed to have been frozen and were a bit overcooked, as was the chorizo they were served with, the soft cheese in the risotto was cold and hard, and the risotto lacked seasoning. Nice restaurant decor but, the hard surfaces do make it noisy. There are several good restaurants in the region so I wouldn't go out of my way to come here again.
