Restaurant Claudine, Carpenter Carpenter’s third establishment, resides in a remodeled home in the up-and-coming Government Hill neighborhood. The space offers snug tables surrounded by elegant hand-painted wallpaper, vintage chandeliers, and sentimental pictures of our namesake, Houston Carpenter’s grandmother, Claudine.

We now offer lunch and dinner Tuesday-Sunday, with Tea Time on Saturday and Sunday morning's. Restaurant Claudine has recently launched a new menu that features New American cuisine for both lunch and dinner.

It was a birthday celebration dinner, so we were all primed to have a great experience and we were NOT disappointed. Kristen did her best but it appeared she was the only server when we arrived — which was fine when we first arrived but as the restaurant began to fill up it tended to lend a slower pace to the evening. The food and beverages were stellar and beautifully prepared and presented. The grilled artichokes were excellent. Be sure to ask for the entrees in the secret menu — the chicken cutlet and spaghetti with meat sauce did not disappoint. The halibut was spectacular— the lemon accent was just the right touch. We dine out once a month and Restaurant Claudine will definitely be in the rotation. Thank you for making tonite so enjoyable.

Our experience was fantastic. The ambience at late afternoon was relaxed and quiet. The happy hour specials are an amazing value. Our server, Kristen, was excellent. Extremely helpful in her recommendations and so welcoming. we loved everything we ate and drank. Overall great experience, we will definitely be coming back.

Very limited meal, it’s a cute place but nothing different or interesting about it. Very limited menu not very much to choose from. Host was especially friendly, server not as friendly, didn’t really explain the menu, she seemed like she did not want to be there

We ordered the chicken club and Caesar salad with the girl dinner option to add fries and a martini! The food was so good! We also got the French 75 which was delicious! The servers were friendly and answered all of our questions and gave their suggestions. Great ambience, food and drinks! We will definitely be back!

Beautiful restaurant with great food! We had salmon dip which was delicious! (Had to order extra bread though as it doesn’t come with enough,) French onion soup, and steak frites. Overall a super meal. It wasn’t crowded as we went on a holiday and service was a little disjointed, but I think they weren’t in their groove yet. Definitely coming back!

What a quaint little place. Amazing setting and amazing service. We went for afternoon tea…. Tea was “warm” at best and food on the 3 tier serving tray was lacking.

Service was special! So wonderful! Food was much better with previous chef, but restaurant was beautiful and service was great!

The food was amazing and the restaurant itself is so cute and I love the location. Our waitress was not very attentive and we had to ask other servers if they could help us out because she was not around. Still plan on going back, would like to try the afternoon tea

Amazing food and staff. Great for a quick bite and catching up with friends. The chairs are uncomfortable of sitting too long but other than that great “girl dinner” spot
