Restaurant Claudine, Carpenter Carpenter’s third establishment, resides in a remodeled home in the up-and-coming Government Hill neighborhood. The space offers snug tables surrounded by elegant hand-painted wallpaper, vintage chandeliers, and sentimental pictures of our namesake, Houston Carpenter’s grandmother, Claudine.

We now offer lunch and dinner Tuesday-Sunday, with Tea Time on Saturday and Sunday morning's. Restaurant Claudine has recently launched a new menu that features New American cuisine for both lunch and dinner.

What a quaint little place. Amazing setting and amazing service. We went for afternoon tea…. Tea was “warm” at best and food on the 3 tier serving tray was lacking.

Service was special! So wonderful! Food was much better with previous chef, but restaurant was beautiful and service was great!

The food was amazing and the restaurant itself is so cute and I love the location. Our waitress was not very attentive and we had to ask other servers if they could help us out because she was not around. Still plan on going back, would like to try the afternoon tea

Amazing food and staff. Great for a quick bite and catching up with friends. The chairs are uncomfortable of sitting too long but other than that great “girl dinner” spot

Restaurant Claudine is a charming dining spot set in an old house, giving it a cozy, intimate atmosphere with several rooms to enjoy your meal. The food was absolutely amazing—my Steak and Frites was perfectly cooked, and my wife’s Halibut was a standout dish as well. I appreciate that their menu changes frequently, offering a fresh experience each visit. The only drawback was the acoustics. With so many hard surfaces and the lively energy of people talking and laughing, it was quite noisy, making it difficult to hear the server explain the menu items. Overall, if you’re seeking exceptional food in a unique setting, Restaurant Claudine is worth a visit. Just be prepared for a vibrant, bustling ambiance!

My experience at Restuarant Claudine was decent. Cons: some of the food portions are very small for the price. They charged me $20 as a pastry fee because we brought my son's birthday cake to the restaurant. It took the food quite some time to come out. Pros: the atmosphere was very intimate and niche. The food was delicious and had lots of flavor. The drinks were on point, and our server was attentive. I'd go back, but not as a group, and definitely not for a birthday.

Omg talk about an experience! The staff were super nice and the vibe was amazing. The pricing was reasonable and the food was amazing! Cute bars near as well!

It was a wonderful experience, I chose Claudine to celebrate my daughter's 14th birthday, at first it was due to the style of decoration and ambiance there, which is exactly what my daughter loves and I wanted to provide her with this experience. But when we got there everything was above our expectations, the perfect service, the food delicious and very well served.

The booth we were at was very dirty. Smudged hand prints in the walls and stained cushions. Took an hour at get our food… salads, carpaccio, shrimp and grits, soup and tea service that was forgetten.. then the tea service showed up when the rest of us were done eating. Over priced.. under whelming.. Will not be back!
