Located within Birmingham's Mailbox, Restaurant at The Woods is an immersive casual dining experience. Our unique setting offers standard, halal and vegan dishes, with a variety of wild and farmed ingredients. Our restaurant is designed to recreate the beauty of nature indoors. With changing seasons and scenery we have towering trees, forest foliage, waterfalls and all the sounds of nature.

Our menu: We have many dishes, Standard, Halal and Vegan. Each of which is compromised of - breakfast, lunch, dinner. In terms of drinks we serve barista quality coffee as well as a range of other hot and iced drinks. We also have a fully stocked bar, offering cocktails, spirits, wines draught and bottled beer and cider.

We came second time to give it another try but that was a mistake, the food was cold, way much too sauce on things, can't make fries, service was okay-ish , got offered half a glass of warm water and that was it

This place is so cute! Every member of staff was lovely and friendly and the service was excellent. The food was great, and we all really enjoyed it!

The server was friendly and welcoming. It was a very quiet Sunday so we were able to have the booth, which he cleaned beforehand for us. We opted for starters and mains. There weren't any yorkshire puddings for the venison starter, so another was picked but then there weren't the required potatoes for that starter so they were substituted. It did take a little bit of time to get the food to begin with but then spend up once the starters arrived. The food was good but we all commented about how rich it was. The Yorkshire pudding wrap with the steam tasted too cheesy so the steak flavour didn't really come through much. The atmosphere was pleasant, quiet and relaxed, no bird sounds this time though. It was a little chilly to, but we put up with it.

Decor drew us in. The host was cheery and gave us an option of tables. DRINKS We ordered champagne - obviously a rarity as the waitress couldn't open the bottle and had to seek assistance. The cruzcampo was spoilt of eggs and changed quickly for an alternative. FOOD Burger in the woods x 3 - alright. Literally a burger and fries. (Said onion ring on menu - MIA!). Everyone said was ok. Duck - overcooked with cold veg. Mac and cheese was good! Salmon - ok. Asked for hassleback potatoes - received mac and cheese. Waited further 15mins for potatoes. 3 x small plates - 2 came with the mains - tasty and bigger than a small plate. Asked and asked again for the 3rd plate - eventually arrived after everyone had finished eating. Overall - overwhelmed staff. Poor service and ok food. Birthday- not acknowledged. Would we return - not just yet.

The food was way too salty and over-seasoned 3 of us had the Yorkshire wrap and all thought the same the restaurant was so cold we had to keep coats on. The only good thing about it was the waiter and waitress.
