Located within Birmingham's Mailbox, Restaurant at The Woods is an immersive casual dining experience. Our unique setting offers a standard, halal and vegan menu, with a variety of wild and farmed ingredients. Our restaurant is designed to recreate the beauty of nature indoors. With changing seasons and scenery we have towering trees, forest foliage, waterfalls and all the sounds of nature.

Our menu: We have three menus - Standard, Halal and Vegan. Each of which is compromised of - breakfast, lunch, dinner. In terms of drinks we serve barista quality coffee as well as a range of other hot and iced drinks. We also have a fully stocked bar, offering cocktails, spirits, wines draught and bottled beer and cider.

Amazing food and service, the forest decor really went with the theme of the menu, will be returning!

Decor drew us in. The host was cheery and gave us an option of tables. DRINKS We ordered champagne - obviously a rarity as the waitress couldn't open the bottle and had to seek assistance. The cruzcampo was spoilt of eggs and changed quickly for an alternative. FOOD Burger in the woods x 3 - alright. Literally a burger and fries. (Said onion ring on menu - MIA!). Everyone said was ok. Duck - overcooked with cold veg. Mac and cheese was good! Salmon - ok. Asked for hassleback potatoes - received mac and cheese. Waited further 15mins for potatoes. 3 x small plates - 2 came with the mains - tasty and bigger than a small plate. Asked and asked again for the 3rd plate - eventually arrived after everyone had finished eating. Overall - overwhelmed staff. Poor service and ok food. Birthday- not acknowledged. Would we return - not just yet.

The food was way too salty and over-seasoned 3 of us had the Yorkshire wrap and all thought the same the restaurant was so cold we had to keep coats on. The only good thing about it was the waiter and waitress.

Decor was lovely. Food well presented and delicious. Service excellent. I will definitely return.

Great experience although wait times were rather high. Overheard staff say there were understaffed for a midday Saturday. Delicious food, unique ambiance, would go again.

Not good. Fish was greasy, flavours didn’t really go together. Pheasant was as dry as a bone. Macaroni cheese was literally horrible. Could have done a better job at home. Ambience is cheap and tacky. Toilets out of order, one disabled loo available. Dryer useless. Glasses were dirty and sticky. This comes across as a bottomless brunch venue and not somewhere to enjoy a fairly expensive (and definitely overpriced) meal.

Friendly staff, who went out of their way to help a wheelchair user. I had the steak, which I asked for medium rare, it was excellent- the best steak I’ve had out in ages. Would thoroughly recommend this establishment.

Service was very friendly and timely but I felt there was too long a delay in approaching after the meal was finished. The toilet facility (disabled only available) needs attention and the hand dryer was of no use in drying. Only rump steak available; a shame, as I would have liked a fillet. However, I would visit the establishment at a future date.
