Res American Bistro is a casual, yet elegant two level dining destination perfect for every occasion. Make a “Res” for a casual bite, a special night out, and everything in between! Our menu features fresh takes on contemporary favorites such as lobster tempura, roasted baby lamb chops, handmade pastas, and our 20-day butter aged NY Sirloin. Make sure to also check us out for our Spectacular Sunday Brunch every third Sunday of the Month!

Our waiter Michael was fantastic!! We had an amazing meal, great cocktails and we’re seated upstairs facing the beautiful Trinity Rep Theater

There are rats in the main dining room. I had to point this out and our party wanted to leave immediately without even finishing our drinks. The staff were unsympathetic to our customer experience when I pointed that out. We were still fully charged for drinks we did not finish due to their rat problem, which is unacceptable for a restaurant I have otherwise enjoyed in the past.

The lobster tempura was incredible! I'd go back just for that! The individual bread just out of the oven was delicious! Main meal, had the filet and it was cooked to perfection 👌 Can't wait to go back!!

2nd time there working in Providence on a consulting gig. Great food! Seafood risotto is so delicious!

We have been going here on and off for a few years now and the food is falling short to what it once was.

We had a 7:30 reservation and had placed our order by 7:45. Our dinners didn’t arrive until 8:45. We were seated between two large parties who seemed to be vying for which table could be the loudest. No one checked on us after our appetizer was cleared (8:00) No one cleared plates nor asked if we wanted dessert or after dinner beverage. They seemed to be under staffed (I hope). Took 3 attempts to get our check at around 9:30. Food was well prepared, but didn’t make up for an unpleasant dining experience. The street level dining room seemed more quiet.

I have dined at Res on a number of occasions. This time was the least successful: still very good, but not great. The salad was overdressed. The filet was undercooked. The Negroni was far too sweet. That said, Res is still a very good restaurant and I will return.

Food was very good and hot but server who was very friendly was not a very good server. Maybe he’s new since he poured the beer too fast creating half foam and was just not attentive to our meal. We requested that both our remaining meals get packed for take home but he only packed one and must have tossed the other. Loved sitting in the corner booth
