Repeal is Whiskey Row’s only oak-fired steakhouse, located at the birthplace of J.T.S. Brown & Sons Bourbon Company in Louisville. A stylish departure from a traditional steakhouse, Repeal uses a wood-fired grill stoked daily with reclaimed American Oak bourbon barrels. Repeal is a tribute to the Repeal of Prohibition – a place to see, be seen and celebrate the rich tradition of the building in which it resides.

Now serving breakfast, lunch, dinner and weekend brunch.

We ate here for our anniversary dinner, and it was one of the best meals we’ve ever had! We each got a steak, and they were cooked perfectly and melted in your mouth. For sides, we got the whipped potatoes, the creamed spinach and the baked Mac and cheese and each were delicious. The creamed spinach had a crunchy breadcrumb topping that was amazing. The rolls they brought were so fluffy. We got bread pudding for dessert and it was delicious as well. Our water was refilled frequently and each person we talked to was just so nice and friendly. The atmosphere was romantic and we couldn’t have asked for a better anniversary dinner!

We arrived a little early for our reservation and had a cocktail at the bar while we waited. Old Fashioned and Watermelon Guava Margarita-both were refreshing. Our server was Ibrahim and he was fantastic! He answered our questions and made recommendations which helped us decide what to order. My husband got the Caesar salad and I got the wedge (chopped). They were amazing and the house bread with flaked sea salt is out of this world! I opted for the 8oz filet with Bourbon peppercorn sauce. Hubby got the NY Strip with creamy horseradish. One of the best steaks we have had an awhile. Very tender with lots of flavor. We split the whipped potatoes, creamed spinach (with breadcrumbs on top) and mushrooms. We were too full for dessert but will definitely be back. The service was impeccable, food was delicious and ambiance was romantic. Highly recommend!!

Really good steak. Nice restaurant and bar. Our server was really good and fun to interact with. It was a really good experience and would definitely go back.

Excellent food and beverages. The atmosphere was exceptional with luxurious, comfortable leather chairs at our table for 2. Our only surprise was very slow service for an 8:15 reservation.

I would give this place 100000 stars across the board. Although, I’ve been a long time resident of Louisville I’ve never ate at this restaurant and it blew me away! It was an amazing meal, nice vibes and very well put together from the appearance to the menu presentation. Also, I got engaged right out front! My experience was a solid 10/10.

My husband and I visit Repeal a few times a year, and it never disappoints! However, our experience last night was next level! First, our waiter, Ibrahim, was the absolute BEST. He was so friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu! He let me know about the newer gluten-free options that they had, which included bread! (I was super excited about that, considering that’s rarely an option at any restaurant.) Unfortunately, they were out of the gluten free bread. I told him being that it was no big deal, but he and his manager, Christian, went secretly above and beyond the call of duty. They ran to one of their partner locations just to get the gluten-free bread for me! It literally made my whole night! As if that wasn’t enough, the head chef was on the grill, and our steaks were perfection! The food was just amazing all around, and so was the service. It was a truly exceptional experience. 10/10 would recommend!
