Reel Fish Coastal Kitchen & Bar is a contemporary version of a classic fish camp, serving fresh Florida seafood prepared in a southern style and served in a casual, family friendly environment.

The restaurant’s daily blackboard specials and core recipes feature creative takes on fresh-caught fish not typically found on many inland-Florida seafood restaurant menus, including tile fish, trigger fish, sheepshead, hogfish and other local species. The Reel Fish menu includes signature classics like fried seafood platters, shrimp & creamy cheese grits, whole fried market fish, such as yellow tail snapper, and Low Country Boils featuring shrimp, PEI mussels, scallops and snow crab legs.

Central to the restaurant is a raw bar serving oysters on the half shell, broiled, steamed and Rockefeller, as well as ceviche and peel & eat wild-caught Florida shrimp.

Great dinner with friends tonight who had never been to Reel Fish before and they absolutely loved it! He had been looking for a local place with oyster shooters that he usually can only find near the coast. We had several appetizers which were all delicious along with the entrees. Overall a delightful experience!

We have been loyal patrons for years, but no more. We overlooked very long food delivery times (a consistent issue) because we liked the food and staff. Last night the reception person was an older woman who offered appallingly poor service. We had reservations requesting a booth made well in advance (as was our habit for years). When we asked very politely she waved her hand dismissively, said they make no assurances, that she was doing the best they can, and refused to even check on booth availability (a booth was visibly open with a “Reserved” placard on it). This was so out of character, we asked to talk to a manager. She informed us that she was the owner. Her tone left no doubt she thought our simple request sounded unreasonable and she made us out to be problem customers in front of other patrons. We left. We had a great dinner at Christners, who treated us with total respect, actually welcomed our business and provided terrific food and service. We had never seen this person before, but she single-handedly destroyed our experience and lost clients worth several thousand dollar in annual spend.

Great fresh seafood which is rare for central Florida! The Mayport shrimp is sweet and delicious! Very good staff and service as well!

The grouper reuben was very good. Blackened tacos were spicy but tasty. Pretty pricey but it is winter park.

Server was very nice but the wait for the food was long. 3 out of 6 of us have allergies and because there was no substitution allowed on the Orlando Magical Dining, they didn’t do it. One order came out wrong after a long wait-he had specifically asked for no sauce on the hushpuppies. Then his wife’s had ordered 2 appertizers and 1 salad and specificied the order she wanted ue brussel sprouts as apoertzer and the other 2 dishes as entrees.Rest of us ate our our appeetizers and hers never came out. Finally the manager brought out the sprouts. The red fish entree was very good vut my husband’s trout were bland and disappointing.

We had the fritters and caviche (which was very fresh and delicious!) The rainbow trout was wonderful. My husband loved the broiled seafood dinner. Blaine was an incredible server! Very knowledgeable and friendly. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. We had great food in a casual atmosphere. It wasn't too loud, so we could enjoy our conversation. We'll be back!
