    Really enjoyed the experience. Great food and service. Quiet atmosphere with an “old school” feel. Will definitely return.

    We walked in and no one else was there…that should have been our first sign (it was only 5:30 on a Saturday night). It was extremely hot outside and the air conditioning inside didn’t seem to be working to capacity. It was very warm to say the least. I ordered a glass of red wine, it kind of had a funny taste. It was served at “room temperature” which must have been 78 or above based on the lack of air conditioning. My husband wanted steak and I wanted lobster tail. Unfortunately, after I ordered lobster tail, I was informed they were out. My replacement (scallops) wasn’t what I wanted and were just ok. My husband’s steak was delicious and cooked perfectly. The fries and onion rings we ordered had an aftertaste of seafood. This was our second visit but we will never be back! You can do what you want with this review.

    The food and atmosphere was not at all worth the prices they are charging. The online menu is inaccurate and my family and I could have eaten at Ruth’s Chris up the road for the same price and had a much better dining experience. My filet was bad and had a sour smell. The waiter did offer a new one and did comp the bill which was nice. However as I stated earlier the ambiance and quality should be much much better if you are going to charge $50 a steak.

    We have been coming to Red’s for a few years. We had not been for a bit and after our meal we decided to make it weekly from now on. Dinner entrees includes salad and 2 sides. Chris provided great service. He also shared he is the creator of various sauces and dressings. The steak quality is simply amazing. My husband ordered the NY sirloin and I ordered the cowboy ribeye. I prefer it to (dare I say) Ruth Chris and Capital Grille. To be fair the atmosphere at RC and CG is better but the food and service at Red’s is excellent.

    Food is better than the surroundings let on, order steak. The ‘longboard’ (deep fried pound cake) has a county fair inspired quality and is the best thing I’ve eaten in Jax this summer. Disappointed they weren’t able to serve the spinalis cut I came there for

    Chris is always so pleasant and service oriented. He personally makes the salad dressing and it is so delicious. We love coming here. It feels like home.

    For the quality of food, we thought it was VERY expensive. It is a neighborhood small steakhouse and not like Morton’s or Ruth Chris yet entrees started from $42 and up. Fresh Catch dish (halibut) was very dry and chewy and was very disappointed. Only good thing was our server. We will not go back.

    We eat at Red's every time we're in the area (drs appt, birthday trip, CME) and I'm never disappointed. The steaks are generously cut and always cooked to perfection. I usually get a baked potato, but opted instead for the cubed potatoes on a whipped feta bed. Delicious! I never would've thought that combination would be appetizing, but it was. And the dessert? That orange creamsicle cake is WONDERFUL! You might just want to come in for cake and coffee. A HUGE portion is big enough to share, but you're going to want it all to yourself after one bite. I'm already looking forward to my next visit to Red's.
