RedFarm brings a greenmarket sensibility to modern and inventive Chinese food and super-charged dim sum complemented by modern, rustic décor. Joe Ng’s menu takes a clean, fresh approach to Chinese food. Signature items include clever dim sum creations for which Ng is known and small plates: Pac Man dumplings; yuzu wasabi shrimp; mushroom spring rolls that evoke a chanterelle mushroom; and a sculptural chicken salad. Modern takes on classic main dishes includes remarkably tender marinated rib steak with steamed baby bok choy and spicy steamed sea bass.

RedFarm is located at 201 West 3rd St., in Downtown Austin, at the corner of West 3rd and Colorado Streets.

The food was excellent but the noise levels were way to loud and the check was incorrect twice and when I questioned it I was told that I was grough. Also I have never been to an Asian restaurant where they charged for white rice

The food was all absolutely delicious. We ordered 4 starters of dim sum and two main dishes to share. These were brought to the table in good intervals so you could enjoy each food item, 2 starters then the other 2. Wait staff very attentive. There are many Chinese food restaurants in austin but this one is definitely top for me now. Highly recommend. The only thing that irks me is that there is a $5 charge for white rice and that this is not included with mains if requested. Would most definitely go back and choose this restaurant above others of the same food type.

Awesome service. Amazing food, the nutella/banana dumplings were out of this world good. I want to go back today just to get them today.

Excellent meal! Started with the stuffed grilled jalapeños stuffed with shrimp, went on to the soup dumplings, chicken stuffed with shrimp, and seafood fried rice. My hubby and I devoured every bite! So good. Service was outstanding as well. Highly recommend!

We sat outside because inside was very noisy. But the food, service and ambiance outsider were great. We shared several dishes and almost were very good. We’ll definitely be back.

This is an outstanding restaurant in downtown Austin. They have great cocktails and teas for the non-alcoholic drinks. We enjoyed the Mango and Arugula Salad as well as the duck lettuce wraps and five flavor dumplings. The soup dumplings are to die for. The entrees were all superb: shrimp stuffed chicken, ribeye entree and the chili chicken. We shared an applewood fried rice which was different and yet delicious. Even the deserts were innovative: hazelnut chocolate dumplings. Great service and well timed courses. They also have several vegan and vegetarian options that seem innovative and delicious. We will come back to try them sometime in the near future.

I was hesitant at first to get Asian style food while in Austin known for steaks & BBQ but I am so glad I did!!!! What a cool place, service was amazing, ambiance was perfect, food was amazing. A great little find downtown Austin.

The location is excellent and the decor and vibe inside are fab. They offer valet parking which is always nice downtown. The staff was over to top attentive and friendly, we really enjoyed that aspect of our experience the most. We had been hearing about RedFarm opening in Austin and were super excited for this meal. The food was a let down, sadly. First round of appetizers were great and we enjoyed some fun tea mocktails that were tasty. No NA beers available, which was a bummer. We ordered the duck noodles, the filet and broccoli, and chilean sea bass entrees. The filet was good; very tender and flavorful. It could have been a bit more crispy. The noodles were tasty, but the duck was inedible. It was cooked, but soft and spongy, no flavor and fatty! No crisp at all on the skin, such a miss. The sea bass was fishy and also inedible. We just kind of lost our appetite after that. Really wanted to like it. Such a bummer, but hopefully they continue working on things to improve.
