Over the years, we have dined at the Red stag Grill, several times. We are locals dining with friends, the evening of our visit. Every time almost without exception we are directed to what I feel is an uncomfortable location across from the open kitchen. Despite there being a number of open tables in the main dining area, and in a nearby booth, the host seemed reluctant to seat us elsewhere. I pointed out a nearby booth and he reluctantly allowed us to sit there. Although our waiter was knowledgeable and pleasant, and told us that he had worked at the restaurant for 11 years, his handling of the cutlery and placement of our dishes, and the need to remind him to remove used items did not reflect such experience. Given the caliber of the restaurant I would have expected more finesse and honestly more flavorful food for the $$$$.

We started with a wedge, filet with roasted brussel sprouts, mashed potatoes, cream brûlée for dessert. Just delicious! And a bottle of red wine

I think the Red Stag is a wonderful restaurant, particularly for breakfast and brunch. It is reasonably priced, as compared to other breakfast/brunch restaurants. Our server, Franscisco, was excellent. Not only was he friendly, but amazingly efficient. Should you choose the Red Stag for breakfast or brunch, you will not be disappointed. Our favorite dish is Eggs Benedict. I can always count on a normal, not exotic, Eggs Benedict.

Fresh ingredients bold flavors. Loved the elk Loin, my wife had the lamb shank and it was exceptional. Don't skip desert.

This place is very special. Even though this is a relatively new hotel/restaurant it feels very rustic. The food was excellent. I had the Caesar salad followed by their excellent, melt in your mouth, braised lamb. M wife had the perfectly cooked grouper. Highly recommend a visit.
