The renovated sawmill features the best fresh and local food ingredients, along with signature Vermont brews, including our own Red Chair Ale. It is a casual dining experience you will appreciate.

And where else in VT can you fly in for a burger? Our grass airstrip is a great destination for small planes. The Red Mill also has an enormous outdoor play structure, guaranteed to provide hours of fun for the younger crowd…Just another reason we are family approved! Tax and service is additional. I’ve been going to the Red Mill for almost 30 years and in the last few years the food quality has suffered greatly. I don’t know what is going on because not only do the overpriced options lack originality, they’re also weird. I ordered crostini with yogurt and tomatoes thinking that it was a yogurt based dip. Nope, it was plain yogurt with chopped flavorless cherry tomatoes and a sprinkling of something equally tasteless. I had to send it back because the bread was completely stale. They could have added fresh basil or mint and cucumbers. Anything to give it some flavor. The salad was fine. Nothing special. My son had the champ burger and even he was not thrilled. His fries also seemed a bit stale, too. The service was great, as always. I love that they hire staff from all over the world. Love the atmosphere, too. I just wish they’d get their act together in the kitchen. Maybe bring back some of the dishes from 10+ years ago. Focus on locally sourced produce and meats which are practically in their backyard instead of just on corporate food distributors, too.

Fabulous location, charming building, well staffed and good food. The menu is short, but well balanced. Drink specials were creative and wine by the glass was generously poured. The general manager is a standout- super friendly, and when he found out that it was our anniversary he insisted on our taking dessert to go.

One of our meals was very lemony. Too much lemon used making it very tart.

On June 20 we dined at the Red Mill - four adults and three little boys under eight. It was a great experience because the whole staff was helpful in accommodating children and making sure our experience was both smooth and pleasant. The dining space has all kinds of decor (canoes, flags, old tools etc) to grab and hold the attention of children, so they enjoy the experience of simply being in the room. The childrens' menu is terrific -- lots of favorites. And the adult menu is just as good, with great burgers, sandwiches, salads, and soups. In other words, something for everyone. Excellent beer, specialty cocktails and mocktails too. Outstanding experience for families!
