The distinctive décor featuring rough-hewn beams, antique farm equipment, and walls covered in Basin Harbor nostalgia makes The Red Mill Restaurant a resort favorite. The renovated sawmill features the best fresh and local food ingredients, along with signature Vermont brews, including our own Red Chair Ale. It is a casual dining experience you will appreciate.

And where else in VT can you fly in for a burger? Our grass airstrip is a great destination for small planes. The Red Mill also has an enormous outdoor play structure, guaranteed to provide hours of fun for the younger crowd…Just another reason we are family approved! Tax and service is additional. One of our meals was very lemony. Too much lemon used making it very tart.

On June 20 we dined at the Red Mill - four adults and three little boys under eight. It was a great experience because the whole staff was helpful in accommodating children and making sure our experience was both smooth and pleasant. The dining space has all kinds of decor (canoes, flags, old tools etc) to grab and hold the attention of children, so they enjoy the experience of simply being in the room. The childrens' menu is terrific -- lots of favorites. And the adult menu is just as good, with great burgers, sandwiches, salads, and soups. In other words, something for everyone. Excellent beer, specialty cocktails and mocktails too. Outstanding experience for families!

Met a friend for lunch at Red Mill. We each had a dog in the car and I had asked about outdoor seating and dogs on the patio. The hostess remembered and was prepared to accommodate us. But the day was cool and the dogs remained in their cars safely, without fear of overheating. Our server was great, although I’m not sure I share his enthusiasm for the sweet potato waffle fries. Our were dry/possibly overdone. Otherwise a fine meal!

Very attentive and pleasant wait staff. Much improved food and very pleasant surroundings as usual. No airplanes landing however....

The wait staff is professional and the food was wonderful. My husband had the Cottage Pie and I had the Cod fillet. Both were delicious.
