Set in the beautiful village of Grantchester, our picture perfect, thatch roofed pub is a 2 minute walk from The Grantchester Meadows and a lovely 40 minute stroll along The Cam from Cambridge.

Super friendly staff (especially Georgia) and good food. Hopefully they'll be able to offer tea and coffee next time.

I arranged a family Sunday Roast for 12 of us to celebrate my partner’s birthday. We were joined by some friends after dinner. The pub were extremely accommodating. The food was excellent and the outside area was perfect for our kids to play. Highly recommended. Bravo to the team 👏🏼 Best wishes, The Reillys

Very efficient. It was a very busy and bustling Saturday lunchtime but the staff were quick, efficient and attentive. The food was brought out quickly, piping hot and absolutely delicious. 😋

My partner and I came to the Red Lion for lunch, having been before for dinner. The sandwiches served at lunch time are delicious and really good value for money. The restaurant garden is a lovely setting to enjoy the tasty food and as per my previous visit, the waiting staff are friendly and knowledgeable. I will be recommending to my friends for sure!

I indicated it was my birthday lunch and didn't really get any special acknowledgement for choosing your pub as my option. The beef was overcooked and a bit dry also we had no idea there was a specials menu which was annoying as we would have ordered something from that instead. Overall not worth the high price point imo and doubtful that I'll be back. Disappointing really.

I ordered the 'Heritage Beetroot salad - admittedly it came with goats cheese and apple etc - but - the lack of actual beetroot was noticeable. A few cubes of red beetroot and a couple of yellow - so unsure of the actual 'heritage' level. As a gardener I grow 'heritage' veg but I would like to know which varieties these were (perhaps this could have been written on the menu so as to ensure that diner knows they aren't being taken for a ride with just 'normal' beetroot - and I'd love to know where the rest of it was!. Disappointed by the tiny tiny amount and as I've said - I'm unsure if this really was heritage varieties (and there were only two types) The service was great and the ambiance, but I feel this mains was rather overpriced for what it was.
