Nestled on the waterfront in Irvington, New York, Red Hat on the River is an American modern bistro serving satisfied diners since 2003. There's hardly a seat in the house that does not offer a spectacular view of the Hudson river. Banquettes and a pewter bar accent the space while the walls of this 100-year old renovated factory building are adorned with WPA-era art evoking a feeling of a turn of the century Parisian bistro. Evolving from a humble bistro on main street to a bustling restaurant on the river with a rooftop bar, Red Hat's commitment to providing the very best experience for their guests has always remained the same. Try the classic menu standards of steak frites, moules frites, country terrine, and the Red Hat burger. Seasonal salads, sandwiches, and seafood entrees round out the menu. The bar offerings of creative craft cocktails, local draft beer, and old world style wines complete the experience. Private events range from corporate dinners to weddings.

Food was ok but $16 for edamame, $42 for a piece of cod and $28 for 3 teeny pieces of tostados with cubed tuna and guacamole is insanity.

Stunning sunset, delicious food, excellent wine, great service - thank you to our lovely server, Tara! We had the meatballs, chicken Milanese, Moules Frites, a gluten free dessert, and key lime pie. Perfect evening.

Please forward this comment to Red Hat. I just want to thank Red Hat for celebrating our Birthdays. Betty is a very special employee, a bartender and mentor to others and our friend who remembered our birthday. Guicy, the owner is someone else who started as a manager and a caring person who has created a great family within the umbrella of the Red Hat. My also favorite worker is Minor who has always waited on us and given us laughter, I recommend the Red Hat to anyone. Juan, Michelle and Nick will make your reservation happen they are special. Best of all the food is delicious thanks to a rocking chef (oops forgot your name). Thank you for all of the years feeding my husband, Louis and me.❤️

Beautiful view, even if you are sitting inside. Excellent american style cuisine; nice portions and well seasoned. Skip the ice tea, which is not fresh brewed. Check out the Eileen Fisher outlet nearby

It was a beautiful night out on the river. Your really can't get a better location. The rest - service, food, etc. was fine. I would go back but I will try other riverside restaurants as well. Not a standout but nice.

My wife saw Red Hat on the River on Instagram a few years ago. On a trip to Philadelphia we stopped for a late lunch early dinner and couldn’t be happier with the experience. Service (Eric) was great and the patio was amazing food was good. That being said the food was a bit overpriced but the ambience and local was worth it. Would I go back, well I’m always looking for a great dinning experience with the Mrs.

Red Hat is beautifully located on the Hudson River with views all the way to Manhattan. It's one of our favorites for everything from family dinners with the grandkids to elegant Sunday Brunch.

Considering we had a reservation we didn’t get a very good table. Server was very attentive. I ordered a mimosa which was outrageous at $15. Tiny flute! Both egg dishes good, no complaints. Noisy kids ruined ambience. How about adults only space?
