Nestled on the waterfront in Irvington, New York, Red Hat on the River is an American modern bistro serving satisfied diners since 2003. There's hardly a seat in the house that does not offer a spectacular view of the Hudson river. Banquettes and a pewter bar accent the space while the walls of this 100-year old renovated factory building are adorned with WPA-era art evoking a feeling of a turn of the century Parisian bistro. Evolving from a humble bistro on main street to a bustling restaurant on the river with a rooftop bar, Red Hat's commitment to providing the very best experience for their guests has always remained the same. Try the classic menu standards of steak frites, moules frites, country terrine, and the Red Hat burger. Seasonal salads, sandwiches, and seafood entrees round out the menu. The bar offerings of creative craft cocktails, local draft beer, and old world style wines complete the experience. Private events range from corporate dinners to weddings.

We had a table right on the river with a gorgeous river view. The service was outstanding, our server was polite, efficient, and friendly. the food was very good, and not only were we comfortable, but the noise level was low and we had no trouble hearing each other speak. A beautiful afternoon.

Fabulous location, overall lovely dinner. Lovely server, Mynor, hope to see him again. Cocktail, Italy on the River, was fab. I asked that it be customized for me, and server and bartender did great job. Reception staff very nice. Was disappointed not to receive chocolates or whatever that I saw going to other tables with check.

The food and drinks were very good, and the overall ambience was nice. It was very loud, but it was a crowded Saturday evening, so that's fine. We were very rushed, though. Reservation at 715pm and they cleared our table by 745pm, which is not what I was expecting at this type of establishment. They even tried to take a plate that we hadn't finished, which was aggravating. Food came out with 6 minutes of being ordered.

OVERPRICED - food was okay, not spectacular VERY VERY EXPENSIVE the unsweetened iced tea tasted like dirty tap water with tons of ice - $7 the $32 salad nicoise was tiny serving - thought it was fresh salmon - it was store bought smoked salmon BUT the view is extraordinary

Had a reservation for indoors but when we got there it was sunny and they were able to sit us outdoors. As soon as we got served drinks the sky rumbled with light thunder. Without us asking the waitress came up to us and said since you had an indoor reservation would you like to be moved indoors while we have tables available? It was such a lovely unsolicited suggestion and we did move indoors. Halfway through our delicious appetizers it down poured and we felt sorry for the customers clustered under the outdoor awning and entrance canopy. Our meal was delicious and we had a wonderful evening!

Lunch was loud Price was high for lunch Service- excellent- I was meeting a friend I had t seen for a while and our waitress allowed us ALL THE TIME we needed. Never felt rushed! Food was great

The staff welcomed me and my family of five with open arms. Patient with my three boys and attentive. The food was delicious and the view was memorable. Thank you!
