Red Dog Saloon is an Austin, TX Barbecue restaurant, serving 18-hour roast ribs, brisket, aged chuck steak burgers and much more, all best enjoyed with tasty cocktails or milkshakes.
Barbecue grew up in the South of the USA where cooks learned to slow roast cuts of meat over fire pits to make them tender. Exposure to the smoke of the smoldering wood added a distinctive smoky and juicy taste to the meat. Our award-winning smokers have been imported from the USA and are built to recreate the cooking process of those original fire pits. We use the traditional American woods of hickory and mesquite to give a full smoke flavor, and the meat stays in the smoker for up to 18 hours.

Food here is always amazing can't fault that. On the downside having booked a table and having to wait 20 mins to be seated, only to be told the last of the platters and most of the menu had just been sold to a big walk in table. Staff were friendly and apologised but led to a slightly disappointing visit. Maybe focusing on the diners in the restaurant paying a service charge rather then the continuous delivery orders things would be better.

Food was good as always, only knocking a star off as they’d actually ran out of BBQ food due to a large table ordering a load of platters, they probably assumed they wouldn’t be as busy as they were. Had a burger instead which was great as always, the pulled pork croquettes were nice and a clever way to ensure any leftover pork from previous service aren’t wasted

Lovely burgers and sides. Good service but very loud . Only non alcoholic beer available to a non drinker, should consider stocking non alcoholic cider and nosecco and Could not provide a jug or even a glass of water! Claimed they’d run out of jugs… very poor.

My son was really looking forward to going to the red dog. He was very happy with his chicken burger and fries.The staff were very polite and helpful..The atmosphere was good. My daughter had pork ribs which were more fat than meat , which was a real shame. I found the coke to be very watery, and the coleslaw tasted of vinegar, this was not pleasant. I think this is overpriced for what you get. I think chips should come with the burgers for the price you are paying. I would not go here again. But i had a great time with my family.

Food has definitely good downhill, service was very poor. Disappointing as this was one of our favourite places to eat in Southampton

Service was fab, restaurant had a nice feel to it but we did find what we ordered to be really salty and a bit dry, for the amount of meat you get in your burger I feel it needs more sauce, we really liked the sausages on the sample menu but was a bit disappointed with the actual burgers considering the price.

Overly breaded chicken wings which were made them far too coated Burgers were smothered with sauces and so full of extra jalapenos that you had too remove some just too pick it up For £80 total cost not worth it unfortunately

Food exceeded my expectation. Really tasty, served hot and quick. Service was incredible for somewhere so popular. Will be returning.
