Red Dog Saloon is an Austin, TX Barbecue restaurant, serving 18-hour roast ribs, brisket, aged chuck steak burgers and much more, all best enjoyed with tasty cocktails or milkshakes.
Barbecue grew up in the South of the USA where cooks learned to slow roast cuts of meat over fire pits to make them tender. Exposure to the smoke of the smoldering wood added a distinctive smoky and juicy taste to the meat. Our award-winning smokers have been imported from the USA and are built to recreate the cooking process of those original fire pits. We use the traditional American woods of hickory and mesquite to give a full smoke flavor, and the meat stays in the smoker for up to 18 hours.

Food was outstanding and came out promptly , server was fantastic at the table very knowledgable about the menu and didn’t speak to you like a generic FOH team member. Came across as herself Slight confusion on drinks order and did slightly feel like we were eating ‘too late’ for them Overall a lovely meal and couldn’t fault service

We ate at this restaurant primarily to have barbecue brisket, and they were out. I opted to have the punisher sandwich which was pork chopped up with a burger, and the pork was very fatty. I asked and received a refund. My husband had two pork ribs and he was disappointed in the sweet sauce. We really liked the macaroni and cheese and the onion rings, even though they were a bit greasy. The service was fine but overall disappointed and wouldn’t return.

Great service from all staffs. I really have a good time with my friends. The food was served hot and in good quality and huge potion.

This is by far the best restaurant I’ve ever been to. The staff were all super lovely and the food was to die for! Especially that brisket😍 Will definitely be going back!

Simple. Wouldn’t bother going. We’ve wanted to go eat here for months after seeing their advertising on social media. Our experience was poor at best. We waited over an hour for our food (our waitress forgot to send our order to the kitchen) the manager offered a 20% discount for the wait, then the wrong food was brought to us, and then when we did finally get our food, it was cold. By this point we just wanted to eat, so asked for our chips to be made fresh but kept the food because we didn’t want to wait another hour. The manager apologised again and said a further percentage would be deducted from our bill. We had a sharing platter which was £32 per person. We did not finish our meal, not because we were full, because the food was poor. Maybe due to it being cold but definitely not worth the £32 per person. When our bill came, the waitress had not deducted the amount agreed. The manager then said he had not told the waitress to take the reduced amount off. The communication between staff was poor. Some of the staff uniform was inappropriate. And while we were waiting for our meal, other customers were complaining. The taxi driver on the way home said he had a poor experience there too. The staff are in need of training and more structure around evening service. Once the discount was taken off we paid £60 but not worth that at all.

Got seated about 5 mins after arrival. Ordered straight away. Had to wait 40 minutes for our meal. When the food arrived, half of it was warm at best whilst the rest was piping hot. We spoke to the guy who served us and he spoke to the chef. As it was so loud in there, I couldn't hear if he said the chef will reheat it or redo the entire meal. As we had waited so long, we did want a longer wait. Our original server came to see of we wanted anything else and we explained the above. She spoke to the manager and they removed the service charge off the bill. We thought that it wasn't enough being that we waited so long for the meal and half was barely warm when it arrived. We've been here before and will continue to do so, however we just wanted to point out our issues to the management and staff.
