Barbeque grew up in the South of the USA where cooks learned to slow roast cuts of meat over fire pits to make them tender. Exposure to the smoke of the smouldering wood added a distinctive smoky taste to the meat. The process could take many hours, leaving the meat tender and juicy.

Our award-winning smokers have been imported from the USA and are built to recreate the cooking process of those original fire pits. We smoke for up to 16 hours using the traditional American woods of hickory and mesquite to give a full smoke flavour.

    This was our second visit and it did not disappoint- the chicken and ribs combo was delicious but the beef brisket stole the show. The Red Dog is definitely the place to visit for quality, quantity and excellent service

    I was very disappointed, especially after having been there twice before. However this time I must say that I wish I had gone somewhere else ! The food was pretty bad. I doubt I will go again and pretty expensive for the quality we were given. I don’t know what happened in between times but I will not go there again that is for sure. Service was good

    If you like meat this is the place for you. All delicious. Only real criticism was that the toilet at th restaurant was a complete mess which let it down.

    I’m really disappointed by Red Dog. I think the Internet overhyped the place. I had the burnt ends for starters. They were chewy as hell, and the sauce that they were slathered in did nothing for me. I had the Texas Trinity meal as a main. It came with brisket, a sausage and a rib. I found the meat to be cooked well but it had no flavour. It was just an explosion of fat and oil in my mouth. It was tender but flavourless meat. The sauce that came with the meal had no depth. It was just tangy. The best part about my meal was the coleslaw and the brioche that came with it. I think the service was poor, our waitress was a little bit rude and maybe too keen in getting our drinks orders and our meal choices. We had only been sat down for 10 minutes and bombarded with questions about what we wanted to drink and what we were going to eat. I think the restaurant had a nice vibe, and ambience. I’m just really disappointed with the food.

    Seated in a cosy corner and it was surprisingly quiet. Great little venue - small enough that the service was excellent. The milkshakes were amazing, and the burger really fill you up.
