Red Dog is an authentic Bar and American BAR-B-Q restaurant, serving 18-hour roast ribs, brisket, aged chuck steak burgers and much more, all best enjoyed with tasty cocktails or milkshakes.

Barbeque grew up in the South of the USA where cooks learned to slow roast cuts of meat over fire pits to make them tender. Exposure to the smoke of the smouldering wood added a distinctive smoky and juicy taste to the meat. Our award-winning smokers have been imported from the USA and are built to recreate the cooking process of those original fire pits. We use the traditional American woods of hickory and mesquite to give a full smoke flavour, and the meat stays in the smoker for up to 18 hours.

My son turns 16th on 30th sept and as a birthday treat he decided to go to Red dog. I booked the table directly and even outlined it was for his birthday and I was extremely disappointed that he didn’t even receive a Happy birthday cookie/cake. The total bill was near £200 for 5 people, with a service charge! Unlike other places I.e Frankie and Bennies and Hickory’s who would have made a fuss. Food was ok and filling however wouldn’t be going back for a special occasion

Red dog always deliver. We asked to move tables as We were seated right next to the bar and it was a bit noisy. Once moved our waitress Couldn’t do enough for us. Service was amazing. Food is always amazing and we always go all Out. No where else we would rather go for bbq.

Over priced and confusing menu. Ran out of 2 items we ordered but only told when food arrived so no chance to change. Basically paid £50 for a sandwich and a burger. Sides were £7:50!!!

Quite simply I have never ever eaten food quite like this it was fantastic we ate here last year and had to go back as we only visit Nottingham once a yr. never tasted food so good I had the peanut butter burger and it’s the best burger I’ve ever eaten. Service was fantastic nothing to much trouble from waiting staff, good job I don’t live here as I’d be eating here all the time and be bankrupt

Really poor nothing available and staff where terrible, how can you have a bbq restaurant and have no ribs or brisket and still attempt to charge full price for platters that where half empty

After being seated we were not told what food items were out of stock. We chose this restaurant for the brisket which they did not have. This is poor business planning for a Saturday night. After being sat and waiting 25 mins for our drink order to be taken it was only at this point we were told what items were nit available and staff couldn't give us a clear answer on what it would be replaced with on the platters. Food to arrive was slow. The automatic 10% service charge was added, it didn't us the option to amend the amount.

Had the sharing platter for two and it was amazing. More than enough (with mac and cheese on the side) for two greedy men.
