    It’s sad for me to write this review because this place used to be so good. The hostess seemed very annoyed and did not want to entertain any small chatter. We tried ordering four different bottles of wine and they were out of all of them. The waiter had to keep coming back time and time again Telling us they did not have the bottle we wanted. By the time we found a bottle of wine our food had come out already. The bottle came out warm. The pork belly was overcooked, and you could tell that they were just trying to turn the table as fast as possible. We looked at each other and said said this place had to be bought out by a new company. Sure enough the waiter told us that ray sold the restaurant and now has new ownership. It just didn’t have the level of service and care it used to have.

    We chose Ray’s on the River for a friend’s birthday celebration. The atmosphere, service and food were outstanding. Our large booth for a party of 4 had a gorgeous view of the gardens and river. Everyone enjoyed their lunch selection and glass of wine. Our server Luis was very personable and attentive. The birthday girl was able to choose a complimentary dessert. Highly recommend Ray,s for an elevated dining experience.

    Exceptional food and atmosphere for the more sophisticated dining experience. No hip hop music or shorts & flip flops crowd. This ain't your place, Dude. Food is always spectacular. The chefs are seasoned pros. And the service is probably the best in Atlanta due to the professional wait staff.

    We asked for a view of the river for Sunday brunch, and the table and setting were lovely. All the wait staff were exceptional - warm, attentive, knowledgeable, and charming. The manager helped us when we asked to please direct a highly flickering overhead bulb away from our table, as one of our party has a medical condition which is triggered by similar stimuli. The food was an order of magnitude above standard brunch fare - the 'adult' gravy, for example, has wine and mushrooms. I quote from our party: the lobster Benedict was 'perfect', the fried calamari and shrimp with two sauces was 'five stars', the gumbo was 'Court of Two Sisters level', etc. We'll be going back for dinner soon.

    When great company, a great table with a great view, great food and excellent service come together, it makes for a great meal. Rays delivered on all of the above. Brunch lobster benedict, crab cakes and shrimp and grits were excellent, service was exceptional and the view was beautiful overlooking the Chattahoochee. Best meal by far in the last six months. We shall return.
