I loved almost everything. Highlights of the meal was the 2 ounces of Waygu we sampled. The Caesar salad were great, not over dressed. Oysters sell themselves depending on where they come from.The other highlight was the crab cake. Perfectly cooked and the riesling, we paired it with. Brought it to a great height. My only complaint was the tenderloin was overly salted. They told me it was wet aged. Which contradicts the purpose of a tenderloin. Dry age is the best approach. It concentrates the beef flavor as well and tenderizes it. Over salting a $70 piece of steak is truly A sad waste of beef. I also thought it was odd everyone was only seated upstairs. It was a little concerning walking into what looked like an empty restaurant. Overall i enjoyed the food and experience. Was it $500 dollars worth. Debatable? Highlights of the meal was the 2 ounces of wagyu we sample. The decor was fitting. Would i come again? Yes. Would i try to order other things on the menu. Yes. We always go back for great service when the food delivers. I think being conservative on what we spend our money on there. That’s the key to heightening the experience at Rare.

Just an amazing experience! We celebrated a birthday dinner here and everything was just perfect — from amazing service to great food! Everyone enjoyed it all — but a special call out to their hot fresh rolls from the oven! We ordered an extra set and devoured them all! The scallops were perfect — the pork chop also perfect — streak was the best our b-day girl says she’s had in years! (Filet) .. I loved the crab cake.

Went with the family. The food was outstanding! Great steaks!! Service was friendly and attentive. The place was fairly empty, but we were pleasantly surprised by the experience.

Excellent, friendly service coupled with excellent food. We had, among other things, calamari, Maryland oysters, prime bone in strip steak and American Wagyu. Rare is a warm and embracing place. Highly recommend!

The steaks were tasty, and we enjoyed them but they weren’t particularly memorable as far as dry aged prime beef goes. I expect it be great! The sides were good as well but nothing spectacular. The service was attentive and friendly. The wine list is a bit of a ripoff. There are almost no choices below $100. The bottle we got which cost considerably more than that was good but not great. The biggest disappointment was the ambiance. The restaurant is very large, and the entire first floor was empty, not a single table seated at 8:30 PM on a Saturday night. The upstairs was about 1/3 full. The place lacked energy.

I greatly enjoyed my experience at Rare. For a Saturday night they were not very busy, but the atmosphere was inviting and the ambiance what I expected for a high end steakhouse. The server was lovely and attentive. The steak was prepared exactly the way I like it and the chef was generous with the blue cheese crust! The wine selection is extensive and if I'd have been with others, could see myself sampling quite a few glasses throughout the night!

Excellent steaks and crab cakes. Extensive wine list and top notch service. Restaurant is beautiful inside as well.

The service was good , the temperature of the steak was good, however the seasoning (salt) was so over powering thst I could not eat but a few bites. I did not want to complain for i was entertaining a new client , but the person clearing the table could clearly see that I only ate a few bites , never asked if everything was OK or even if I wanted to take it with me ... just wanted to let you know ... BTW had the filet .
