Travis and Ryan Croxton debut their spinoff from the highly acclaimed Rappahannock Oyster Bar at Union Market in Washington, DC. They’ve even brought their DC Chef, Kevin Kelly, to man the kitchen at this outpost. This location in the historic Cigar Factory Building on East Bay Street, allows room for Chef Kelly to showcase more of his cuisine to a larger audience, including an incredibly unique 40 seat raw bar. Oysters grown by the Croxton’s own Rappahannock Oyster Company are accentuated, but Kelly’s signature dishes like lambs’n’clams, crabcakes, shrimp & grits and the best po’ boy you’ll ever eat are enough reasons in their own right for constant visits. Coupled with a great cocktail program and focus on local ingredients, ROB is a great place for any occasion.

We had a good time. The server was knowledgeable and attentive! The food was good - everyone was happy with their choices. Even the children in our group liked the food.

Fantastic meal! The oysters were delicious as was the oyster chowder! The peel and eat shrimp were jumbo! Every meal we had was fresh, delicious, and presented beautifully. And always start with an oyster shot!

This place has consistent good food. Fish is expertly cooked! The oysters are high quality. The service was very good. I’m glad that it is out of the touristy area, so it is less chaotic.

Our first time there and our last. Oysters were awesome but the crab cake was so so my husband had the shrimp and grits and said the same thing about it We had friends with us and she ordered the spaghetti And clams and coulnt even it it as it have too many herbs in it. Server was just not with it and it wasn’t even busy. No one in the bar and only 5 tables.

Don’t sleep on this restaurant. Our service was outstanding and the food was delicious! The shrimp and grits, halibut special and shrimp po boy…chef’s kiss. So good! Our waiter was the nicest guy. We will be back!
