We tried two tapas plates with ceviche, trout and mahi mahi. Both were beautifully presented and perfect to start the meal. My son had octopus with squid ink risotto and I had a braised beef dish which came with rice and Peruvian corn to soak up the gravy. Everything was tasty and the beef was tender and came with mushrooms and potatoes and was garnished to appeal to the eye. There is a modest but well chosen wine and drinks list with a few signature cocktail choices. The service was polite, friendly, prompt and unobtrusive. I enjoyed hearing about the Raphael's award winning dish from the previous weekend and it was presented in miniature as an amuse bouche at the beginning of the meal. A very enjoyable experience with the tab coming in at $200 it is a special occasion restaurant that will not disappoint. Reservations recommended.

It was an excellent experience. We tried their cuisine when they were starting in the city at a “box” at city centre. Now the restaurant is beautiful, cozy and the food phenomenal. Pricewise, it’s an Ottawa-wide, Canada-wide issue. After COVID it has gone beyond reasonable. For the same price we can feast at phenomenal restaurants in Europe. It’s a shame that food prices have retained the prices when there were real supply-chain issues.

We were greeted by our Young, but knowledgeable waiter Francisco, who is extremely friendly and helpful. Answered every question we had. The service was prompt, efficient, but we were not rushed. The food was superb: Humboldt Squid tapas; Ensalada; and Steelhead trout – beautifully presented, cooked to perfection. The dessert,flan in orange sauce, was delicious. We received little servings of treats that we were not expecting, both before our main meal and at the end of the meal, similar to the New Orleans lagniappe. The prices were quite reasonable for the amount and style of food. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to those who want a unique and memorable dining experience in a relaxing ambience.

Amazing! Great food, service, drinks, atmosphere. They went out of their way to make our annniversary even more special. We will be back.

The decor and service are excellent. I've eaten in many Peruvian restaurants in various countries and while the food at Raphael's is fine , I've experienced better. Nevertheless an enjoyable evening. Our server was so helpful and a delight.

The service at Raphael is outstanding and the food - wow! Highly recommend the pulpo al grill, taradito as well as the causa (trout). The Humboldt squid was our favourite although all the dishes were delicious . It wasn’t our first time there, and wont be the last — we will be returning for sure.
