Celebrated my husband’s birthday dinner with the tasting menu. Everything was yummy and portions were substantial. Our favorite was the tuna tartar and the salad. Scallops were a bit overcooked. Beef Wellington, sticky toffee cake and Parker rolls were great. Beautiful restaurant and a highlight was that Gordon Ramsey was dining with his wife at the table in front of us. Made for a memorable evening!

We had a wonderful evening! The entire staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The oysters, lobster roll and sticky toffee pudding were delicious!!

For the amount of money and the name/reputation, I expected a stellar experience. The jumbo crab cake WAS, indeed jumbo and delicious. The harvest salad was also delightfully jumbo! However,the scallops, IMO, were overcooked and over salted. And I add salt to almost everything! The haddock was swimming in a pool of browned butter, which overwhelmed the plate. For dessert we requested just two small scoops of the crème fraîche ice cream, not wanting a full dessert. Sadly, it was a bit on the icy side, not as creamy as, IMO, ice cream should be. It was giving subtle hints of sorbet. Subtle. But again, for this level of restaurant, I was a little disappointed. The service was very good.

First time there and did the express lunch. Lobster bisque was a little saltier than I expected but still good. Beef Wellington was good but since it’s half compared to others I’ve had before - they were a bit more tender. If you’re getting a sit down lunch thought this is still a good deal. The toffee cake was good and the best part of it was the toffee. The cake part imo was boring, compared to the toffee and vanilla ice cream - not quite dry and not very spacey at all - maybe a good palette for the toffee but once that’s gone - nothing special. Service was wonderful. If I ever go back for an express lunch I’d try the other items next time.

I had high expectations based on the reputation of the restaurant owner, however, the material on the cloth bar chairs was filthy, and the fries that came with the burger were soggy. Otherwise a good experience but didn’t expect that from someplace in the Mandrin. There are a lot of good restaurants in Boston that wouldn’t make those amature mistakes.

Hostess was excellent! Food was way overpriced and just OK. I will not be visiting this restaurant again.
