Catalan chef in charge of Ramón Freixa Madrid restaurant (in the Hotel Único) and awarded two Michelin Stars and three Repsol Suns. Also in the capital is Ático – on the 6th floor of The Principal Madrid Hotel with fantastic views of the Gran Via. Their concepts are all different but they are joined by their ever-present Mediterranean origins.

In the kitchen of Ramón Freixa there is daring, innovation and wisdom, as well as impeccable technique and a number of visual and sensory tricks. A blend of tradition and avant-garde, madness and common sense in perfect harmony. Each plate has a secret history which is revealed gradually and stylishly and where the main character is always the flavour.

From the professionalism of our waitstaff to Ramon’s incredibly creative culinary vision, our dining experience was exceptional. We not only enjoyed the unique dishes, but also the fine attention to detail in terms of the pleasing visual presentation of each dish. We will certainly be coming back to for this special experience again.

La comida muy buena. Servicio lento y poco firmado Iara un dos estrellas. El Maridaje una vergüenza. 80 euros y había que perseguirles para que te sirvieran. Caro para servicio que da. Ofrece carta in line y luego solo re da menu.

Pésima!!! Nos permitieron hacer la reservación para desayunar a las 10am, nos despertamos temprano y nos alistamos para ir. Cuando llegamos con reservación en mano, NOS NEGARON el acceso, ya que según esto tenían el restaurante reservado para un grupo (en ese momento se encontraba vacío) como es posible que permitieran la reservación y hasta me mandarán confirmación vía email y todo para que finalmente no nos permitieran el acceso, llevo usando OpenTable desde hace varios años y jamás me había tocado una experiencia tan desagradable,con un trato tan incomodo y en un restaurante tan bien calificado como este. Lamentable experiencia y peor aun que el restaurante NO HIZO NADA para mejorar tan mal rato.

Presentation at the expense of flavour. At at La Terraza de Casino the evening after. That experience was better on all points

This is my third Michelin restaurant in Europe, and thousandth fine dining experience. It now ranks as one of the worst food experiences of my life. With the 20 course esperience, all the appetizers were downright terrible. They either had a bad flavour or were just appaling. A creamy egg shaped item served on a spoon had me wanting to spit it out. Too many dishes were totally out of balance, too creamy, too soft, no flavour or weird flavour. The meat dishes, main courses, were tasty and a pleasure to eat, but anything would be after the worst appetizers of my life. Save yourself the money and just enjoy a good mid-range tapas place in Madrid.
