Frenchie cocktails and digestifs top off the occasion from the adjoining Little Bar, wrapped in William Morris wallpaper dressed in eclectic art.

In addition, GNH Bar and Terrace, a bustling and welcoming space, blending British heritage with world influences welcomes you downstairs on the street level. The GNH Bar is open every day from 9am to 11pm.

Enjoy a 2 or 3 course express lunch or pre-theatre dinner starting from £22. Add a glass of our house red or white wine for £6.5 to your steak frites or indulge in our signature cheese trolley for dessert. Food prepared simply and brilliantly at King's Cross station. Available Monday, 12pm - 3pm, and Tuesday to Saturday , 12pm - 6pm.

Just the ticket before you head into the Big Smoke or journey back home.

Equal parts comfort and sophistication from our menu, live jazz to our interiors, Great Northern Hotel is a perfect spot to rally family & friends and settle in for an evening of celebration. *Cancellation up to 22nd December (5pm) free of charge. A full 100% charge will be charged thereafter.

The thing we most appreciated about Rails was that it was quiet and we were able to hear each other without straining! Seats are comfortable, tables spacious, the welcome warm, service just right. The wine was perfectly chilled and very tasty. Our mains from the set menu were ok but not outstanding, the desert trolley was very sparse in terms of choice, but the cheese option was splendid and generous. There are lots of little nooks and quiet spaces outside the restaurant where one could have a quiet drink. Overall, this is a good find, and my friend and I will definitely return.

It was ok, but not great. The steak was well cooked and the fries were tasty and crunchy. The mussels were very gritty, though, and the bread did not taste fresh. We were also not enjoying another customer playing video on their phone without a headset. Hearing cats crying, very loudly, was very disruptive, and the staff should have picked this up with that customer.

Vraiment très bon. Le lieu est magnifique, le personnel adorable et attentif. Les plats sont variés et sont très bons, chacun apportant une nouvelle façon de voir un aliment. Ambiance musicale parfaite, volume correct et confort au niveau des placements

Rails is a great location for a catch up with family and friends. The food is good and the wine and mocktails also come recommended. The staff were great attentive without being intrusive and well informed.

The bar was excellent, and the service was outstanding, but the food fell short, and the wait for starters was quite long. Given the hefty bill, I expected more, and to be honest, I don't see myself returning here for dinner.

Unfortunately my terrine starter was too salty, and the french fries I ordered with my main were delivered after id nearly finished it. Staff were however very apologetic and comped the fires and some wine.

Booked the afternoon tea for my friends birthday. The food was nice and fit the theme really well but the serving staff were a little snippy and the price did not include vat or service charge so be aware of that if you book.
