Step into 1st floor RAILS Restaurant for a buzzy and relaxed dining experience. Expect a great modern British-French grill with succulent meat, fish and vegetable dishes served with sauces and sides, and the best moments from a Parisian brasserie menu, not to mention interiors.

Frenchie cocktails and digestifs top off the occasion from the adjoining Little Bar, wrapped in William Morris wallpaper dressed in eclectic art.

In addition, GNH Bar and Terrace, a bustling and welcoming space, blending British heritage with world influences welcomes you downstairs on the street level. The GNH Bar is open every day from 9am to 11pm.

Lovely anniversary meal with my wife. Fantastic, cosy and intimate environment. Service was perfect. There when you needed someone, but disappeared when not required. Fast turnaround of drinks too. Food was great. Only disappointment was that they had run out of beef wellington. But the porterhouse that my wife and I shared was very tasty. Would definitely return again.

Loved it. Great service. Lots of menu choices. Good value. Food delicious. Staff all friendly, polite and friendly. A little bit cold when the air con was on but OK once they turned it off.

Great to have an old favourite back on form again and with sensible opening times. Food was really good, service was friendly and always a nice space to spend some time. The Little bar was brilliant with great attentive service. Overall would be five stars but an additional person on service would probably have helped things flow a little better. Will be returning again soon.

Staff friendly enough but the service extremely slow, at times non existent. Ambience uninspiring. Overall disappointing.

We had a confirmed booking for 4 for Lunch. We arrived a few minutes before my booked time, I introduced myself in the dining area, told them we had a reservation, but was not asked to produce it. (I had it in electronic format). The four of us were shown into a small side room and left alone. After 20 minutes, in desperation, I went back to the dining area and we were shown to our table. After that, the food, service and ambience were all excellent, as I have come to expect from previous visits to Rails. No explanation of our treatment on arrrival was offered, but sensing my anger the waiter offered the four of us a glass of prosecco. I shall remember to print my reservation when making future lunch appointments at Rails

Quiet and light space with lovely decor and atmosphere. Service discrete and attentive - menu excellent and delicious and good value too. Lovely wine list. Went for business lunch but would also meet friends there - in St Pancras but away from the hurley burley

The thing we most appreciated about Rails was that it was quiet and we were able to hear each other without straining! Seats are comfortable, tables spacious, the welcome warm, service just right. The wine was perfectly chilled and very tasty. Our mains from the set menu were ok but not outstanding, the desert trolley was very sparse in terms of choice, but the cheese option was splendid and generous. There are lots of little nooks and quiet spaces outside the restaurant where one could have a quiet drink. Overall, this is a good find, and my friend and I will definitely return.

It was ok, but not great. The steak was well cooked and the fries were tasty and crunchy. The mussels were very gritty, though, and the bread did not taste fresh. We were also not enjoying another customer playing video on their phone without a headset. Hearing cats crying, very loudly, was very disruptive, and the staff should have picked this up with that customer.
