We had the 13-course Omakase beautiful dining experience at the bar counter, and it was excellent! The quality of food was of the highest quality grade, and so was the service. The attention to detail is highly praised. My favourite were the nigiris, which were encouraged to be eaten by hand. I've had many in my lifetime, but am savouring for these again. This was also the first time we saw fresh wasabi being grated for us from the high grade plant. When the dessert came out, I couldn't personally stomach the yoghurt concoction, so they replaced mine with a delicious yummy sorbet mixture instead. We highly recommend this place and will be back.

It’s always reassuring to walk into a Japanese restaurant to find that all the other diners are Japanese. The centrepiece cherry blossom tree was not as well lit as it appeared on the website but the atmosphere was very much modern Japanese. I was offered something to drink shortly after I settled into my comfortable upholstered barstool at the counter. Always a good start and a sign a restaurant takes itself seriously. The counter is the place to see chef Rai demonstrate his skills and what better way to experience them than through the 10 course Omakase tasting menu. I counted 7 courses - perhaps Rai count each individually served nigiri as a course - but no matter, I didn’t leave hungry. The highlights are the sashimi and nigiri courses. Prepared in front of you with professionalism and verve and served to you by the chef himself. I confess I felt a bit like Jeremy Clarkson having an interaction with Gerald on his farm but, like Jeremy, it was a very pleasant one for me. With the proliferation of generic sushi on high streets and in supermarkets it’s a pleasure to be reminded of real sushi the way the Japanese enjoy it. It’s not quite night and day but at least a warm sunny day versus a cold overcast one. The wasabi root was ground in front of me and the raw fish melted on my tongue. If I closed my eyes I could have been in Kyoto. As is the case with many good restaurants, the lunchtime tasting menu offers excellent value and a great way to taste a range of dishes. Altogether a great experience. I recommend booking soon before it becomes difficult to book a table (or counter) at this fairly recently established small restaurant.

Best omakase experience in London that won’t break the bank. The whole staff is warm and friendly. And the omakase chefs prepare some of the best Japanese dishes outside of Tokyo.
