Riccardo was born in Florence, Italy and grew up in Boston, MA. Marybeth, a Sioux Falls native, ventured to the east coast as a nanny and then nursing school in Somerville, MA. The two met, fell in love, and became engaged on Martha’s Vineyard island. Moving back to Sioux Falls in 1999 and working at several area restaurants, they opened R Wine Bar in 2018. As owners of R Wine Bar, Riccardo and Marybeth are passionate about one thing: people. They believe that people don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care. With a curated wine list, local craft beer on tap, and beautifully executed menu, Riccardo and Marybeth are thrilled to bring R Wine Bar & Kitchen to the East Bank of Downtown Sioux Falls along with their General Manager, Jane Allen, Assistant Manager Bailey Bernal, Sous Chef Caleb Carr, Sous Chef Esteban Gonzalez, and Culinary Director Adam Schumacher.

Best overall meal I have had in a long time. Most perfectly cooked and tender steak i may have ever had.

Server was very attentive, even when the order was slightly wrong, they made sure to make it right and gave us free dessert and a discount. The live music wasn’t too loud and gave a nice ambiance. Food was delicious as always.

We love live music, and at R you can still visit. The menu is so amazing, I struggle to choose each time. Tonight the sea bass dish had the most intense flavors. This is the best experience in Sioux Falls!

Always outstanding hospitality and dining experience. In this case, the lunch menu had a variety of paninis and mine was delicious. The welcoming atmosphere is the best of the best in Sioux Falls and a simply wonderful place.
