On our return visit to R Bistro, we were not disappointed. Service was second to none; Austin was attentive and ensured we were taken care of, the food was prepared to our complete satisfaction, and the atmosphere made us feel at home.

I went for drinks at the bar where I had the best Bloody Mary I've ever had. I asked if I could have fried shrimp and oysters. They said sure and served them with their homemade smoked tomato glaze and tartar sauce. They had live Jazz with guitar and saxophone. This is the best restaurant in Baldwin County. I would highly recommend it!

We had the fried artichokes and barbecue shrimp with fresh made baguette. The food and atmosphere was great. I would highly recommend!

Great dinner at the bar with Sherri serving and making cocktails. Delicious fries, scallops, spinach salad, and salmon. Duck was very good but could have been cooked slightly longer. Only issue is that they charge for ice in a cocktail (?!). Recommended.

Food was ok, two of us ordered steak medium, and they were both were undercooked at rare, they then told us that their oven was down so they couldn’t cook it properly. Something that should have been told to us when we ordered. We sent one back and it was still medium rare when it was brought back out. We finally just asked for a Togo container to cook it properly at home. We were not compensated in any way, they could have at least given us a free dessert or comped one of the meals due to it being inedible. The coconut bread pudding we ordered was nothing to write home about, wouldn’t order it again, the salads were good and saved the meal.

Everything was good but the food. My dish, Trout Menuiere on top of some green beans was virtually unseasoned, and the beans were almost raw. But, my husband‘s fillet was what really ruined our night. It arrived at the table raw. He sent it back. It arrived at the table a second time, barely cooked. Sent it back again. Finally came back cooked. After he had finished everything else on his plate. Hostess explained that there were new cooks in the kitchen. Stated they were not trained. How do you put untrained cooks in your kitchen on a Friday night?

Absolutely loved our experience at R Bistro. It felt like white table cloth type food in a relaxed atmosphere where we don't need to get dressed up to dine. I had the shrimp and grits and it was divine. I don't like crawfish so I wasn't too hyped up about ordering the shrimp and grits because of the crawfish gravy that is on it, but our waiter offered to bring me a sample of the gravy because he too did not care for crawfish until he tried it when he began working here. I practically licked the sample dish clean and ordered up. Austin was our waiter and was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. Misty, the owner came over after dinner to see how everything was and we found out she had prepared the delicious dessert we had herself. In fact, it came to our attention that she is a very hands on owner by where you can feel the love of her craft in every bite. I would return here again and again. I very seldom write reviews, but this one was worth it.

Our experience at R Bistro was exceptional! Our servers, Marra & Adin, provided excellent service. They guided us through the menu and options with great enthusiasm. The walnut pimento cheese with toasted crostini was a delightful start to our meal. The shrimp and grits were the best I've had since moving to Fairhope, and the beef stroganoff, tender and topped with puff pastry, was absolutely delicious.
