At Pythouse Kitchen Garden, you'll find an idyllic atmosphere in which to enjoy fantastic food. We offer covered outdoor seating in our glorious garden and indoor seating in the conservatory and potting shed. Pythouse Kitchen Garden is a lunchtime destination only at present.

Head chef Darren Broom's passion lies in producing food with an unmistakable sense of terroir. For Darren, provenance is not just the backstory to his ingredients, it’s everywhere in the look, feel and taste of his food.

We are keen to champion our own produce first and foremost, providing guests with a unique and ever-changing insight into the seasons. We work closely with the garden team to manage and maintain the garden and to deliver a programme of regeneration and sustainability.

Pythouse Kitchen Garden is a private party paradise. You can lose yourself in magical nature and feast on its treasures as they grow around you. The fruit and vegetables are grown solely for you and your guests and harvested on the day of your celebration. The abundant flowers, specimen trees and 18th Century architecture form a heavenly backdrop. Parties at PKG are invariably colourful, chic and fun. From unique seasonal weddings with a homegrown twist, to glamorous, formal sit-down dinners, the walled garden provides for all.

Third visit but first for Sunday roasts. Not disappointed although roast chicken not as moist and tender expected. Shredded beef delicious. On balance prefer the normal mid week menu.

A great location & a really relaxed, friendly ambiance. The food was excellent with carefully balanced flavours & the choices were good. Slight snag was that we had to wait a while for our ordered drinks. We asked for sparkling water & an aperitif first to have with our delicious starter. The starter came quite quickly but we waited too long for the drinks to arrive, & had finished before we managed our first sip. I think it was just an oversight as it was very busy when we arrived . We will definitely be back despite this little blip as the food was truly delicious & as previously said the ambiance was well worth it.

Fabulous food in a lovely setting, using predominantly home grown or locally sourced ethically produced ingredients. Service is first rate, and excellent value for such a special experience!

What a gorgeous place! Flowers everywhere. Stunning gardens. Absolutely loved the ethos behind the food sourcing. Fabulous food and drinks. A highlight of our holiday.

The food was great. BUT we were disappointed that dogs were allowed inside the restaurant. Outside yes with more area space but it’s a no no for having animals in a restaurant.

PKG has become our fav eating experience in the UK! We travel across Dorset to enjoy the delightful surroundings (both inside the conservatory and outside on the terrace in summer months) and the delicious and creatively presented wholesome menu using locally resourced fruit, veggies and meat. We love sauntering round the kitchen garden looking at the beautifully presented kitchen garden, before receiving a genuine and warm welcome from the staff. The menu choice is always excellent and the ambiance is really outstanding! We have celebrated birthdays, anniversaries and Christmas and have enjoyed introducing our friends to the wonderful PKG experience! Thank you so much!
