At Pythouse Kitchen Garden, you'll find an idyllic atmosphere in which to enjoy fantastic food. We offer covered outdoor seating in our glorious garden and indoor seating in the conservatory and potting shed. Pythouse Kitchen Garden is a lunchtime destination only at present.

Head chef Darren Broom's passion lies in producing food with an unmistakable sense of terroir. For Darren, provenance is not just the backstory to his ingredients, it’s everywhere in the look, feel and taste of his food.

We are keen to champion our own produce first and foremost, providing guests with a unique and ever-changing insight into the seasons. We work closely with the garden team to manage and maintain the garden and to deliver a programme of regeneration and sustainability.

Pythouse Kitchen Garden is a private party paradise. You can lose yourself in magical nature and feast on its treasures as they grow around you. The fruit and vegetables are grown solely for you and your guests and harvested on the day of your celebration. The abundant flowers, specimen trees and 18th Century architecture form a heavenly backdrop. Parties at PKG are invariably colourful, chic and fun. From unique seasonal weddings with a homegrown twist, to glamorous, formal sit-down dinners, the walled garden provides for all.

PKG has become our fav eating experience in the UK! We travel across Dorset to enjoy the delightful surroundings (both inside the conservatory and outside on the terrace in summer months) and the delicious and creatively presented wholesome menu using locally resourced fruit, veggies and meat. We love sauntering round the kitchen garden looking at the beautifully presented kitchen garden, before receiving a genuine and warm welcome from the staff. The menu choice is always excellent and the ambiance is really outstanding! We have celebrated birthdays, anniversaries and Christmas and have enjoyed introducing our friends to the wonderful PKG experience! Thank you so much!

Our first time dinning here and we would definitely return. We were late arriving so we're dinning when others were leaving so the atmosphere deteriorated a bit when it emptied. The food was good quality and well sourced. Perhaps because we arrived for a late sitting the service wasn't quite as good as it could have been.

Upon arriving in the restaurant there was about 5 large dogs, although there is a Marquee outside where diners who wish to bring dogs could be seated. Also I saw one of the waitresses stroke some of the dogs and continued to serve, without washing her hands, which is not very hygienic. Having dogs in a restaurant is not hygienic. If you are not confident with dogs, perhaps you should not eat at this restaurant. My wife's vegetarian meal was very bland, and very basic. Although my food of lamb chops was good. Will not be returning.

Food is an all round experience not just a meal. Superb quality and beautifully cooked. Surroundings comfortable and relaxing. Stunning gardens. Staff couldn’t have been more obliging and welcoming.
