Purple Café and Wine Bar pairs a global wine selection with a menu that combines classic American styles with seasonal Northwest ingredients.

We feature an expansive menu ranging from artisan cheeses, starters, soups, salads, sandwiches and pizzas to pasta and seafood. We take a great deal of pride in utilizing the most fresh and local ingredients.

On the wine side of things our wine list features over 80 glass and 600 bottle selections. Over the years our wine program has been recognized with various accolades that include an "Award of Ultimate Distinction" from Wine Enthusiast Magazine and being named "Best Wine Bar" by Evening Magazine's Best of Western Washington Viewers Poll.

Great Duo wine pairings comparing old world with Washington and Oregon wines Very helpful and knowledgeable server Alfonso who was terrific.

Vibes!! Romantic and lively. Stuffed dates were surprisingly good. The burger and handcut fries were WONDERFUL!!

We popped in for a quick bite and were quickly shown to our table. Unfortunately it was then 30 minutes til our shared plates arrived. No apology for our wait was offered and no one came to check our food was ok - which it was! Indeed we were pretty much ignored until we caught someone’s attention to bring the check. So good good, service non existent! A shame!

We went back to Purple for the first time in around 5 years. It used to be a family favorite, but after the Kirkland and Bellevue locations closed, we stopped going. Our experience at the Seattle restaurant 2 days ago was very disappointing. We waited over an hour for our appetizers to be served. When I asked the waiter what was taking so long, he didn't answer, disappeared into the kitchen then came back with a bowl of tomato soup (that I hadn't ordered) and placed it in front of me. When the appetizers eventually arrived, one was wrong and was sent back. Our main dishes arrived soon after the starters and most were very disappointing. The lamb chops were overcooked, the pesto pasta was not very tasty, and the falafel burger was inedible. Only the beef hamburgers received positive reviews. The waiter didn't ask why 4 of the 6 plates he picked up looked like they had hardly been touched. Overall this was one of the worst dinners we've eaten out in Seattle in recent memory. Sadly I can't see us ever going back to Purple Cafe again.

I have usually had great experiences at Purple however this time around was not so good. My pork chop was raw in the middle. Also, for a place that prides itself on wine - the selections by glass were not great.

Food and ambience were good. Service was just a bit slow. Overall a good experience and would recommend for lunch or dinner.

I really enjoyed Purple. It was our first time and the wait staff were so helpful with the wine selections and food options. Everything was delicious!
