A MELBOURNE INSTITUTION
Established in 1995, Punch Lane is a Melbourne dining icon and a pioneer amongst its laneway counterparts.
Punch Lane is a cosy and inclusive Wine Bar and restaurant, which prides itself on serving delicious food from a seasonal menu, mouth-watering cheeses from an eclectic selection, matched with exceptional wine and service.
Our kitchen team, headed up by Nuno Gabriel, have created a seasonal menu showcasing local produce. We are currently offering a 2 hour dinner sitting for all early reservations prior to 7pm in our dining space with drinks and bar snacks available from 3pm - 5pm Tuesday to Sunday. Dinner service commences at 5pm Tuesday - Sunday. Lunch from 12pm - 3pm, Tuesday - Friday.
Please note Sunday surcharge of 10% and Public holiday surcharge of 15%

Reservations 10-20 guests are available for dinner on Friday and Saturday nights on our Chef’s feasting menu 100pp. Please advice us of any dietaries of your guests when booking. Reservations prior to 7.30pm sitting time are for 2 hours. The food coming out of a small kitchen is amazing. Wines and drinks excellent. Staff were helpful, fun and gave thoughtful suggestions.

Gordon Ramsay popped in some years back and said to us " Great food comes out of small kitchens ", love him or hate him I think he made a good point which I believe matches your comment. Wonderful four course menu and impressive wine collection. Service was a little hit and miss. Would still return.

This gem of a restaurant has the perfect blend of ambience, great service and importantly great food and wine. Nick our host was incredibly welcoming and engaging throughout the evening. The menu selections were enticing and importantly delivered what was promised. I will be back.

My friend and I have been going to Punch Lane for lunches since 2004. Menus for both wine and food have always been excellent. The service has always been excellent particularly in making suggestions for food and accompanying wines. Very extensive wine menue both national and international. Particulary like the ambience and the decor and table arrangements. Most recent time we were served excellent oysters followed by a marvellous Scotch fillet. The cheese plater for afters is always a nice selection of hard, soft and blue. Cannot speak highly enough of this wine bar.

It has such an intimate feeling, except you are in a full restaurant, the staff were knowledgeable and kind. Much appreciated, and the meals were top notch

What an amazing dinner, I can’t believe I waited over 10 years to come back here. Food divine, burgundy wine amazing, service staff were lovely.
