A MELBOURNE INSTITUTION
Established in 1995, Punch Lane is a Melbourne dining icon and a pioneer amongst its laneway counterparts.
Punch Lane is a cosy and inclusive Wine Bar and restaurant, which prides itself on serving delicious food from a seasonal menu, mouth-watering cheeses from an eclectic selection, matched with exceptional wine and service.
Our kitchen team, headed up by Nuno Gabriel, have created a seasonal menu showcasing local produce. We are currently offering a 2 hour dinner sitting for all early reservations prior to 7pm in our dining space with drinks and bar snacks available from 3pm - 5pm Tuesday to Sunday. Dinner service commences at 5pm Tuesday - Sunday. Lunch from 12pm - 3pm, Tuesday - Friday.
Please note Sunday surcharge of 10% and Public holiday surcharge of 15%

It's time to spoil yourselves this Christmas Day with lunch at Punch Lane. We are offering 2 sittings for a 2 hour period - 12pm & 2.30pm to our Chef's tasting menu. The bar will will call last drinks at 4.45pm to allow our staff to escape home to their own Christmas celebrations. Menu to follow - please let us know of any dietary requirements you have when booking Please note beverage purchases will incur a 15% public holiday surcharge on the day.

All dinner reservations for New Year's Eve dine on our NYE Celebration Feasting Menu priced at $135pp. Vegetarians, pescatarians & gluten free guests can be catered for. Please notify at time of booking. All reservations prior to 6.45pm are a for a dining time of 2 hours after which time we request your table back to accommodate guests who are dining with us later. Due to the high demand of bookings there is a cancellation fee of $135pp with less than 7 days notice.

the chef's menu was not as expected at all, flavor combinations went nowhere. service was ok.

Thank you for your feedback on your experience and for your detailed notes on the private message you also sent with more detail. It is clear the flavor profile of our food as well as the ingredients are not to your liking, for example chicory has a bitter flavor, blue cheese has a sharp taste. We appreciate you giving us a go.

The music and crowd were perfect. It made the dining experience more enjoyable. The food was delicious particularly the steak which was very tender and nicely crisped giving a lovely flavour that went brilliantly with the other dishes. The wine range was extensive and we enjoyed a nice Australian viognier. I thoroughly enjoyed the meal.

This is a hidden gem in little Bourke street. The menu is interesting and on this occasion we decided to have an array of starters from their 'snacks' menu. Loved the Portuguese salt cod croquettes and the hero was the lamb cutlet with an eggplant relish. We also shared a very smooth chicken liver foie gras parfait with an onion jam and potato bread and enjoyed the spanner crab cigars (there is only one per serve so if you want to share you will need two). We washed these down with a couple of Prosecco's and to conclude enjoyed the chocolate fondant with berries and a raspberry sorbet. The service was extremely attentive and it was lovely to listen to some good jazz mixes.

We ordered a set menu and the food was plentiful and absolutely delicious. The wine suggestions to go with the meal were also perfect. As we were rushed to get to the theatre we only had an hour to eat but once they realised we weren’t able to have our dessert due to time restrictions they suggested we come back after the show. It worked out perfectly and we had the most beautiful panna cotta afterwards. Highly recommended

I had the Porcini mushroom gnocchi, could not taste any Porcini at all. The rest as very good.

Consistently great quality food and always interesting selection of wines. Darcy and the entire wait staff and kitchen crew are so consistently awesome! Punch Lane Wine Bar is a quintessentially Melbourne dining experience!

We had a fantastic meal with cocktails and wine at Punch Lane. Francesco was very attentive and helpful in selecting the best items on the menu to match our appetite. This is our second time to eat here and it was even better this time.
