Welcome to Pueo’s Osteria, an Italian-inspired, inviting restaurant that provides great food, prepared from scratch daily, complimented with a stocked wine list and set in a delightful osteria environment. Co-Proprietor & Chef James Babian focuses on original creative dishes, pairing the finest, authentic Italian products with select seafood, produce and meats from boutique farms (sourced locally whenever possible), including “farm-fresh” products from local farmers’ markets.
Pueo's is located at the new Waikoloa Plaza in Waikoloa Village with ample free parking and designated pick-up stalls right outside the restaurant.
The "Pueo" is a nocturnal owl indigenous to Hawaii, which symbolizes Chef's focus on serving dinner and into the evening hours. Pueo's Osteria caters to locals and visitors via sit-down, bar and take-out. Engaging service, approachable pricing, great flavors and a lively atmosphere await at Pueo’s Osteria – food, wine & fun … "where the night owls meet."

Amazing Italian food in the Big Island! Several handmade pasta dishes to choose from, great salads, drinks and appetizers too. We enjoyed the papardelle with wild boar ragu, cacio e pepe, gnocchi with Chianti braised short ribs, brussel sprouts, and caprese salad. Nice wine selection and cocktails. Our go-to every time we visit Waikoloa. Only downfall was it took over 15 minutes for our waiter to even acknowledge our table to put a drink order in. After that, much more attentive.

Our server was exceptional! The old fashion drink was okay. The eggplant was thick and not peeled. Should be sliced thin and peeled for a better taste. Pricing was high but that's hawaii!

We love eating here when on the Big Island. We have been coming for many years. It’s always a yummy and delightful time. Mahalo.

Very busy so we waited past our reservation time, but the food and service were WORTH the WAIT! The handmade gnocchi was delicious. Homemade focaccia and soup of the day were awesome too. My husband had the fish special and loved it.

Pueos’s is always good. This time even better. Joe our waiter and the rest of the staff especially the greeter were outstanding and very accommodating. The food was amazing. We had the homemade focaccia bread, veal parmigiana with aglio olio and the mushroom pizza (a white cheese sauce base) and they were exquisite. They also have a 30$ corkage fee we always take advantage of. Amazing evening. Mahalo nui loa.

Such a lovely dinner experience. We had polpetta meatballs and the house marinated olive dish as an appetizer. Our entrees were the pork chop, pollo alla Milanese and the spaghetti. We also enjoyed dessert; tiramisu and cannoli Great service throughout our evening!

Gorgeous place. They have this beautiful tree in the center and i mentioned how pretty it was and the sweet Hostess offered to seat us under it. Best table in the house! Everything was delicious and the portions were prefect.

One of our favorite restaurants on the island. Because of it’s popularity , there was a wait for the table. Likewise much of the pasta is made scratch . This takes longer. If it was not worth the wait , we would not continue to go. I would love to give a bad review so that there would always be availability .I can’t .. the ultimate compliment
