The atmosphere was nice and service was great. The food was good, some things better than others. We thought there would be more traditional sushi on the menu.

Pubbelly Sushi Miami Beach is located in a great area in Miami. Upon arriving, we were seated outside immediately. The outdoor seating was intimate and pretty quiet. We reviewed the menu and found items that we were interested in and when the server arrived we were ready to order. When the server arrived he asked if it were our first time visiting Pubbelly. We replied that it was. The server then went into a long list of his recommendations, many of which we were not interested in and did not ask for his recommendations. The server insisted that the items he recommended were the best items on the menu. In an effort to be friendly to the server we decided to go with a few of his recommendations. The food was brought shortly after, and everything was delicious except the items he has suggested. We requested that the items be taken away immediately and that the menus were returned to us so that we could select the items were originally wanted. The manager visited the table and apologized for the items and did a great job with bringing resolution to the table. Unfortunately, the server appeared upset that we did not like the items he recommended. He became quiet and dismissive. It was obvious that the service went down from there. The server did not check on the table and the manager appeared to have taken over in the server’s absence. I was disappointed that the restaurant added an automatic gratuity to the bill when the service was not great. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone that is familiar with quality service, as you will be let down. Food was good.

The pacing was too fast. Everything was decent but was not made to order, tasted and looked premade and the pacing reflected that. Our waiter was very nice and my cabernet was good but food came way too fast. Liked the buns the best.
