Proper 21K, brought to DC from the New York City restaurateurs Rob Zahn and Will Strozier that own Manhattan Proper, and Proper West, opening in August 2020. Located at 2033 K St NW, Proper 21K is a high end sports bar serving All American classics with a gourmet twist. Proper 21K is the second DC location of NIEUW Group INC.

Like its predecessors, located in New York City and DC, Proper 21K serves contemporary American cuisine. The space maintains the modern aesthetic and New York style of the Manhattan locations, which have best been described as Tom Ford meets Thomas Edison. The restaurant provides the best audio & visual for sports, corporate functions, nightlife and other events.

Decent place, liked the atmosphere. A little rowdier than expected. Truffle fries were OK, not sure what I expected and we did eat them. Dinner of Bulgogi and Poke Bowls was very good. Should have skipped the fries to fully appreciate the main course. Pumpkin Spice Espresso Martini was excellent.

My friend and I came here for brunch and we were definitely impressed. The decor and ambiance were gorgeous. The service was cute and the staff was very friendly. The food was delicious, but the prices were quite steep. The wings were near $20 with no fries or anything. My friend ordered the shrimp and grits, but the sauce/gravy was too much. I got the tres leches French toast, which came with bacon, but the bacon fat hardened on the bacon, so it was like grease just sitting on the bacon. Overall, everything was great, but the little things made it that it could’ve been a better experience. We had a great time and will be back. If you’ve ever wanted to try this place, I would recommend it.

The whole staff were lovely and accommodating and I will definitely be returning. The cocktail suggestion and tuna tartare were both excellent. Thank you for making my DC trip start out splendidly!

Our waitress accidentally spilled sprite all over our table. My cell phone got soaked, all the new clothes in the bag got soaked. We had to move to another table. One of the brand new shirts was totally damaged. Silk. My complaint is that we never got a discount on our check for all the damages to our belongings (my belongings). There was no compensation and yet, I still tipped 20 percent I will share this with all my colleagues who frequent there and my friends. Roxane Malikyar

We had a great experience. There weren't many other people in the restaurant but even if there were I feel the service still would have been excellent. All of the food (apps, entrees, kids meals, and dessert) were delicious!

Meal was fine- serviceable and affordable- the server was great BUT the meal took forever to arrive and the room was so dark we could hardly see the food once it arrived.
