A Berg Hospitality Group original concept, Prime 131 is a live-fire steakhouse and sushi bar within a revamped industrial space at The Docks at Timbergrove. Evoking the electric ambiance of New York’s chic yet edgy Meatpacking District in the early 90s, Prime 131 ignites a fresh dining experience in Houston where the artistry of grilling takes center stage.

A protein-forward concept with Korean and Japanese influence, Prime 131 creates a completely unique meat experience where diners watch their meal be prepared on four central wood fire grills and two Josper charcoal ovens. In addition, a full sushi bar and four Korean barbeque style tables offer curated experiences featuring some of the most exclusive cuts in the world.

Founded by our dear friend Cleverley Stone, Houston Restaurant Weeks benefiting the Houston Food Bank is back for its 21st year! Prime 131 is honored to participate for the very first time. We will be offering: 3-Course Dinner Menu • $55/person.
Korean Grill Top Dining Experience at Prime 131

Our four exclusive, Korean grill top dining tables are sized for parties of 4-6. We are happy to accept parties of 2-3 at our first seating (4-5:30pm) or last seating (anytime after 9:30pm), but please call 713.840.1553 to reserve it with our host as we do not accept online reservations for parties under 4 guests. A cancellation fee of $50/guest will be applied if your reservation is canceled within 24 hours of your reservation seating time. If your party arrives late or is incomplete more than 15 minutes past the reservation time, we will try our best to accommodate you but may need to expedite your dining experience or reschedule it in order to honor the next reservation on the table.

The food was delicious and the restaurant was very nice. Our server seemed annoyed when we didn’t order drinks and generally not interested in following up when we needed things.

Great food, service was horrible. Waited 25 minutes WITH reservation. Took 30 minutes each time to get our drink, never got served water had to ask. I think it has great potential food is amazing but service is everything.

We had a wonderful Friday night dinner. The service was top notch with our waiter providing great suggestions and the sommelier finding us a delicious bottle of wine that was perfect based off the flavor profile and price point I asked for. Our steaks were cooked perfect and I highly recommend the truffle butter accompaniment. We saw so many other dishes go by that we want to try, we’ll definitely be back.

Made a reservation here at the new Prime 131 to celebrate our wedding anniversary and OMG what a miss. I wished I’d gone elsewhere. Food: Beef in particular lacked flavor. Our steak was dry and half of short rib was full of gristle; definitely surprising considering an a live fire steakhouse. The presentation of the short rib was also underwhelming. They did make me another short rib, which aided to the good customer service. And our server was very attentive. Now the biggest turn off was the massive size menus. Literally takes up almost half of the table. The fries and sushi were good but I’ve had better. Desserts: the Black Forest and Basque Cheesecake taste like those tasteless desserts you’d find at an all inclusive dessert. I wonder if the seemingly young staff is contributing to the lack of quality?! I don’t know but I wouldn’t return. 4/10

We all ordered the restaurant weeks menu, the entrees all arrived over a 20 minute period, 3 of 4 were cold. The manager said ‘apologies this is unacceptable we will do our best’, and the second set of entrees came, but the sides arrived 15 minutes later Not what we were promised. Desserts were sub par, certainly not what you would expect from an expensive high end restaurant. Then the check arrived, and the manager had graciously given the sides for free. I found the manger and explained again that the experience we had was totally unacceptable and finally we were given a $120 discount. On the positive side our server was very good and the wine was excellent Overall the food was below par, bland taste very unexciting. kitchen management needs training in delivering the orders to the table on time so we could eat together. A poor experience overall hopefully they can get their act together quickly

Good food. One of the best meals in a long time. Wagyu beef skirt steak, roast romaine and cheesecake.
