Prim & Proper is a elevated dining experience located on the historic block of Redwood.

We're excited to welcome you! Our dress code is smart casual, aiming to enhance everyone's experience. No need for formal wear, but we ask you to avoid athletic gear, sleeveless shirts, flip-flops, and hats in the dining area (hats are welcome at the bar or patio). It was not the experience I was anticipating The ambience is beautiful, but the food is very average and slightly overpriced for what you get Service is average. We had Drew last night. He was very polite, but there was a lack of sophistication with the whole experience, including food service, etc.. Drew was nice. Probably won’t return this is my second time By the way, there were visible big rats running up and down the street big turn off

I was so excited to take my husband here to celebrate his birthday and a recent promotion in the fire department. When we arrived I was a little off put by the ambiance. It looked a lot different on IG, but I was still optimistic. I’ll start with the positive attributes. The wait staff was amazing! The pornstar martini was delicious- it gave Nobu passion fruit martini vibes. Unfortunately, that’s all I can say positive about the experience. My husband and I pride ourselves on being foodies, and go out of our way to support black owned businesses. While this restaurant is an amazing concept, the food lacks much to be desired. The deviled eggs lacked flavor, the lobster ravioli sauce was super watery and also lacked flavor. The crab fritters were just basic, something you could obtain from a dive for half the price. The chicken breast was horrible! I assume they were trying to pay homage to Ruth Chris’s classic stuffed chicken breast but definitely missed the mark! The skin on the chicken was soggy, the chicken breast was cooked unevenly ( dry but then pink in the middle), and it was stuffed with a basic Boursin herb cheese. The mashed potatoes that accompanied were watery and flavorless. The prawn dish was ok , but the fried rice was definitely a miss! The texture was off and of course it lacked flavor. The macaroni and cheese was good. The broccoli was overcooked. The waygu burger was super basic and falling apart. The honey fried chicken was just no! Why would you remove the bone from a flat chicken wing?? And it was just overcooked , stringy, and again lacked flavor. I spent excess of $400 in this establishment, so I was definitely not happy. We expressed our concerns to the staff that informed us that the establishment were between chefs. While i understand that this contributed to our experience, $400 worth of inedible food is unacceptable. I’m not sure I would ever return, nor would recommend. I hope they can turn this situation around.

Restaurant looks good. Service was top tier. Food was decent. Pasta with no protein was excessive in cost.

The Chicken & Shortcake Strawberry Waffle was absolutely delightful. The service was phenomenal… everyone was attentive and the DJ was on point with keeping the vibes positive and energetic.

I really don’t want to give a bad review but I have to be honest, food was extremely mediocre particularly the steak. I think it was a cut off beef from where Poors shop (Walmart). The desert menu was as lackluster. If you want a quick bite to eat come here but this is not fine dinning quality at all.

The food and service were amazing. The music and decor was a whole vibe. I loved the open kitchen concept where you can see the food being prepared. Watching the Chief prepare the dishes you could see his love and passion for food. I don’t think you can go wrong ordering anything from the menu! I can’t wait to go back.

It was our first time there for our anniversary. We had the blue crab fritters, oxtail risotto, and crème brûlée. Everything was delicious and the service was excellent.

I came here during week to celebrate anniversary. Bar area was very loud. The loud customers in bar could be heard in the dining area. The music was loud and did not vibe with the atmosphere. Did expect manager to ask about experience and nothing. The server was great. I requested could music be changed and he was not able to. Even upon exiting I toured over to the bar and no greeting from anyone. My food was just okay. My spouse and I ordered the tomahawk and it was not seasoned. My fries were seasoned better than the steak. If a food item cannot be made to correctly just take it off the menu. I will not return to this restaurant. But there is potential for it if they change the bar area.

First off the website said they open at 12:00 on the weekend, not true. My dinner reservation was at 5:00 we got there 4:45. Small staff was there. I call the day before to find out if they do valley parking, I was told yes but when we got there they haven’t had valley parking for a whole week. I ordered the chicken wings for an appetizer they were horrible . At that point we decided to go somewhere else. I like to support new businesses but l couldn’t give this restaurant a good rating.
