Our waitress was wonderful, however it took a long time to get our food. Crab cakes were not good, cold on the inside.

The food was wonderful! The portions were perfect. Our server Cole was fun and attentive but did not rush us. The perfect location for brunch before a show at the Detroit Opera House.

I had read both good and bad reviews. The bad reviews were primarily about the wait time, so we were a little nervous about what the experience might be. We were trying to catch a bite to eat before a 7:30 show at the Opera House, so we came for an early 5:30 dinner. Our server was very sweet and made recommendations about drinks and food which were spot on. She was attentive without being overly intrusive and we never had to look for her (some negative reviews had stated they didn’t see a server for 30-60 minutes sometimes). We ordered our appetizer and meals at the same time to hopefully avoid any delays. We had plenty of time for our appetizer and then meals without any issue. We were getting done and ready to take the 4-5 min walk to the Opera house by 6:45. The drinks were excellent- if you like a vodka based drink, the Lavender Bubbles and Dequindre Cut were very good. We had the scallops with mushroom risotto and the roasted chicken. Both meals were very good and the chicken was excellent. It was perfectly roasted and came with lightly dressed greens. The scallops were perfectly cooked and risotto very good. We’re glad we gave them a chance and will definitely come again.

The hot honey fried chicken sandwich was phenomenal, memorable and the truffle fries complimented the sandwich perfectly.

The staff was very friendly and we were seated right away (we had a reservation). The food and drinks were good, it's just the fact that it took very long to be served. The wait staff came over right away and took our order, but it took about 20 minutes to get our drinks and about 30 minutes to get our food. We actually had more than one wait staff stop by on several occasions, so it wasn't for a lack of staff that things took long. We noticed people at the bar were coming in after us and getting food before us.It was a Sunday before a Lions game so it could just be some kinks in the system that need to be ironed out. I'd go there again and give them another shot. The place was cool, had a nice big bar area and cozy booths for seating bigger groups.

I've seen this restaurant in the city and was excited to finally try it out. Upon entering the atmosphere was great, friendly hostess, but going to our table on the patio, we noticed it wasn't ready- the tablecloth was dirty and hadn't been cleared from the previous guests. Bear in mind we did have reservations, so there was adequate time to prepare. This was the beginning of the end. The server unfortunately must have been having a bad day, it took 10 mins to come with water, only to forget the glasses and the shirt had several visible stains. I recommend bringing extra shirts if they have to wear white. We ordered our cocktails, appetizer and entrees all at once when the server came back with glasses. I ordered the "up in smoke" cocktail that requires a smoked top. While I appreciate the efforts to smoke it table side- it's definitely a fire hazard if it's windy! Not only were ashes on the table but we were wearing them. We ordered coffee and again upon reaching our table there was more coffee in the saucer and on their shirt than inside the cup. After 30 mins our appetizer came out great flavors from the street corn. We were never offered refills on the water while we waited 45 mins for our entrees- so we thought. During our 45 mins wait, an impoverished woman went table to table asking for funds. While I understand you can't control beyond the restaurant- you can control the immediate perimeter. For a fine dining experience and pricing there should be better security of the restaurant grounds patio or not. Now at an hour of our dining experience, we never received our entrees and now simply just asked for the check. Never did the server inquiry the status of our food or apologize for the wait and never receiving it. I'm very disappointed in the atmosphere, quality of service and that I never got to actually experience the food.

Started off strong by getting seated right away with our reservations. Ordered the table mimosa bar- thankfully- and came out quick. After that it was a good thirty minutes before anyone came back for our food order then another hour to get it. My sister and I shared the breakfast sandwich- amazing- the side of potatoes were either cold or under cooked. We also shared the toaster pastries- the pastry part was good. The filling was mixed berry and what was in it was good. But there was barely any filling and also cold. Frosting was good but tons of it compared to the filling/pastry so a bit over powering. Service was decent but they were overbooked (there words) and the kitchen must have just been slammed. Bad day for us to go because I’m sure it’s normally much better.

Not fancy but nice, this restaurant is part of the Aloft David Whitney Hotel in downtown Detroit. Surrounding area felt clean and safe, although event traffic in the area can slow down your approach. Enter from street or from the hotel lobby. Wonderful jalapeño corn bread comes in a small hot iron skillet and is very tasty and perfectly cooked. Not very spicy at all, served with jam. Matched perfectly with the corn bread was the crispy roast 1/2 chicken. Lots of flavor on the outside and tender, moist meat on the inside. Topped off with a nice classic old fashioned, this meal was wonderful comfort food in a pleasant setting and very good service.
