Prelude Kitchen & Bar is Restaurant located in Downtown Sacramento that serves Modern American, Farm to Fork cuisine. Our Chefs work directly with local Sacramento Farmers to source local ingredients for each dish. We believe food and dining is more than sustenance, it's a connection between guests, chefs, farmers, and the nature that surrounds us. Our menu is crafted from scratch, ensuring that every bite resonates with exceptional taste, genuine flavor, and fine dining quality. Prelude Kitchen & Bar is conveniently located in the heart of Downtown Sacramento next to the Crest Theater, Golden One Center, State Capitol, SAFE Credit Union Convention Center and Performing Arts Center. We offer validated parking at Capitol Garage located directly across the restaurant.

This was our second time visiting the restaurant and it was as good or better than our first visit. Servers are attentive and knowledgeable. Food is excellent. There was a large party near us which is the only reason that I said that the noise level was a bit high. Fantastic restaurant!

There were only 2 other tables occupied when we went for lunch. So expensive. Wow!

Everything we had was wonderful. The ravioli starter was savory and delicious, and I loved the risotto and the beet salad. My specialty cocktail was just the right amount of sweet and tart. Our server was so nice and tolerated all of our questions. 10 out of 10 would recommend.

My partner and I celebrated our birthdays yesterday evening and we had an amazing time. We arrived a bit early and we were sat immediately. Our waiter, Michael, was perfect. He was patient, attentive, and really easy to work with. His smile and warm behavior made our night much more relaxing and easygoing. The appetizers and entrees we got were amazing. My partner and I do not drink alcohol, but they had great drink options for us! My partner and I will definitely be coming back.

The food was fantastic! There were 8 of us and I selected the restaurant. This is a picky crowd and they were all thrilled with our apps and entrees. The carpaccio and brussel sprouts were amazing. I had the Arrabiata and it was loaded with shrimp, scallops and crab. Delicious! We don’t come to Sacramento often, but if/when we return, would definitely go back!

The food are excellent, good quality, fresh reasonably price and best of all our amazing waiter ‘’Sal’’ or Salvador very attentive , professional and he love what he’s doing .. it’s my birthday dinner with friend and I receive flowers from the restaurant and complimentary dessert Thank you so much for amazing dinner. God bless you all We gonna come back

Both the food and service were fabulous, we were so impressed with both. It’s a nice, cozy setting inside and we were well looked and checked on regularly. The food was beautifully cooked and presented and it tasted incredible. It would highly recommend Prelude and we would definitely go back if we visit Sacramento again.

Everything was really good except the noise level. It was very busy and lots of people seemed to be competing to be the loudest. Some soft furnishings/wall coverings would help. Food was excellent, service was outstanding and drinks were very good.

My friend and I had a wonderful experience. The service was fantastic. We started with really unique and tasty cocktails and appetizers. The waiter helped us pick out the best items from the menu, since it was our first time at the restaurant. I ordered the scallops and my friend ordered the short ribs; both dishes were fantastic. I definitely recommend this restaurant and I can’t wait to go back!
