Even though Post is a new name for most of us, it has been an important part of South Hamilton history since 1924. The historic building at 16 Bay Rd. was home to the South Hamilton Post Office, and a place for residents to send and pick up letters. In response to the Great Depression, and a drop in the postage rate (from three cents to 2 cents), the Postmaster added more opportunities for residents to pick up their mail. At Post, which at the time was known as “the brick block building”, letters were piled on a table, and a bell was rung to let residents know that they could come and retrieve their mail. Keeping with that tradition, guests of Post will have an opportunity to “Ring the Bell”, which signifies that they have bought a beer for our hard working kitchen and waitstaff. Whether you are coming in to dine with family and friends, grabbing a drink and an appetizer, or picking up takeout on the way home, Post is here for you – rain or shine.

An absolutely wonderful lunch. Food was fantastic, service was attentive, and ambiance was lovely. Highly recommend this restaurant for a great experience.

We were looking forward to dining at Post with another couple. Unfortunately the staff did not mention that they were hosting a large function in the bar area. They were woefully understaffed and overwhelmed. The dining area was totally ignored by the shortage of staff. Drinks came out wrong twice !! After waiting to order dinner for about an hour. We talked to the sever, she was mortified, she apologized, I gave her a tip for her efforts, then we left to dine at another venue. Maybe….we will give it another try again ?? Not !!

Great service! We were GF and the server was terrific! The gf fish and chips and gf calamari was delicious! Recommend! Many items on the menu can be prepared GF!

My Book Club meets at Post every few months because of it’s convenient location, nice ambiance, and the fact that it’s open Monday nights. We have almost always enjoyed our meals, but the same issue comes up each and every time. The drinks take a really, really long time (15-20 minutes) to be delivered. It’s also been the case when I have been there on other evenings.

This was our first time going here from a neighboring town. We were very surprised how cute it was inside and cozy. There is a 2nd room which has lower tables and was much more quiet which I would recommend if you have guest or want to hear them speak. The waitress was so kind and polite and she was also very good at understand what we were looking for. My husband and I split everything bc we were not that hungry. We got a Fall Fire Grilled Pizza with squash and sausage.. amazing, then we got a Bowl of Clam Chowder and for our main meal we got the Salmon in a cream lemon sauce with asparagus and roasted potatoes. For dessert we had the Apple Crisp Bread Pudding!! Oh MY GOSH!! Their desserts are to die for !!! The prices are really good and left knowing that we are coming back!!
