Nestled beneath the steep grassy slopes of St Ives “Island”, right on the beach with unbeatable and uninterrupted views across St Ives Bay to Godrevy Lighthouse. Now open all year round for lunch, afternoon tea and dinner.

The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. The café specialises in Mediterranean and Asian seafood cuisine and is an oasis of taste and visual beauty. The café is open daily for a selection of patisserie and the finest coffee.

A Holiday in St Ives would not be complete without going to the beach. Here at Porthgwidden Beach we have one of the cleanest beaches in the South West. We have been given the prestigious Blue Flag Award which guarantees the highest of standards.

The best makeral pate starter and flavourful hake main with excellent Cornish cheddar to finish. Warm welcoming and good value. Highly recommended

Excellent views. Our food was very good. The service was absolutely lovely and made all the difference. Highly recommend.

We booked for 12.30 lunchtime and asked for a seat by the window - we had this but it was in the smaller room so we asked to move so we could hide our dog away so she would settle. Nothing was too much trouble for the lovely staff. We had mackerel pate to start which was so tasty and then the fish and chips which was haddock and to die for! Lovely glass of Pinot and a lager all finished off with a spectacular view of the bay and the huge Atlantic waves! Perfect lunch. Thank you.

We have been visiting porthgwidden cafe for 20 years and today service was horrible. I will not be coming back You should not allow a booking at 3pm if when you arrive a few minutes after 3 to be told hurry up the chef need to close the kitchen . We were rushed , not brought table water after asking for some . Then to be watched over and felt very uncomfortable . We got the bill over £120 only 2 alcohol drinks and 4 mains no starters or sweets . Felt totally ripped off . In May I came 3 times in one week that’s how much I have always loved it . And always get vouchers for Christmas & birthdays . Extremely disappointed.

We had a lovely experience at Porthgwidden Beach Café, it's difficult to choose the best bit. The service was amazing, the food was incredible and to top it all we got a table by the window over looking Porthgwidden Beach. It was amazing value, normal prices for gourmet food. I can't praise this restaurant high enough, thoroughly recommend it.

Enjoyable dinner overlooking the beach. Friendly and welcoming. The meal was delicious- very fresh and well presented.

The gratuity/tip was already added on to the bill and we we were not told about it. Everywhere else that we have been to has informed us and that it is an optional payment. This did slightly sour the experience.
