Nestled beneath the steep grassy slopes of St Ives “Island”, right on the beach with unbeatable and uninterrupted views across St Ives Bay to Godrevy Lighthouse. Now open all year round for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner.

The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. The café specialises in Mediterranean and Asian seafood cuisine and is an oasis of taste and visual beauty. The café is open daily for a selection of patisserie and the finest coffee.

A Holiday in St Ives would not be complete without going to the beach. Here at Porthgwidden Beach we have one of the cleanest beaches in the South West. We have been given the prestigious Blue Flag Award which guarantees the highest of standards.

Our favourite restaurant in St Ives. Lovely food with great service and a great view. Looking forward to our next visit

Been visiting for 20 years but most disappointing visit this time. Food very basically prepared and served. Ordered burger and it was served with a mountain of chips. Served simply as burger on brioche bun with slice of tomato, cheese and burger sauce. Presentation was lacking. I asked for some mayo only to receive a bowl of various sauce sachets (as you would in any greasy spoon cafe). My partner chose fish and chips. Fish was well cooked and served on mountain of chips with a small bowl of peas. Again served with no finesse. This restaurant used to be our favourite place to come for dinner. However standards have slipped and prices are inflated for what is being served. Won’t be rushing back.

We love porthgwidden, the ambience and service were brilliant BUT it was TOO EXPENSIVE- £170 plus for 3 people- we shared one starter, and had no desserts…. Sorry, we loved it but was shocked with the price! Little things like bread and sides really shouldn’t be as pricey when paying £28 for a main dish you expect it to include potatoes.

Nice position to dine overlooking the beach. Disappointed I had French fries when I ordered fish and chips, should be advertised fish and French fries. I booked this table for an anniversary meal and this was noted on the booking, but not acknowledged at all when we arrived, during or when we left.

Our waiter was a very nice lad. The food was nice, shame the weather wasn’t nice to complete the visit. Many thanks Peter.

What a fantastic restaurant in a fantastic location delivering excellent food and quality and service provided by very friendly welcoming individuals. Don’t change anything in what you do. Even the tide was in on our visit which makes the location and view even better! Thank you for a lovely experience.

Beautiful location , window seat was excellent Nice food Friendly staff Been coming for years , seen the menu change a lot ! When it was Tapas it was good… Didn’t like the service charge !!!!
