Food was quite tasty. Roasted chicken was excellent. Salad was exceptional however fish cakes were lackluster. Very noisy bar with staff tossing glass bottles into the bin unaware of how disturbing the crashing noise was to diners nearby. There was no consistency as to which exact waitstaff was assigned to our table. Within the first 15 minutes we had 5 different people perform 5 different tasks. None with coordinated efforts. Ordering a bottle of champagne was unforgettable with the bartender stating “we don’t have that one and haven’t had it for a long time; I don’t know why they haven’t taken it off the menu”. That does not reflect well at any place of business. Overall the food was quite good but the service requires much more polishing before I would ever want to return.

The steak was out of this world and the staff where on point and made the experience there an had a great time

My husband and I visited Porters to celebrate his birthday. All staff were attentive and welcoming. I was recommended the moules to start and they did not disappoint. Fillet steak was absolutely incredible, melt in your mouth, everything you hope for in a steak. I had mine with frites and a blue cheese sauce. The staff arranged a HBD brownie for my husband which was a nice touch and an end to a beautiful evening. I'd highly recommend Porters!

Fantastic meal and attentive service for my sons 40th birthday 🎁 The waiter went above and beyond our expectations. Had the rib eye steak with green vegetables, delicious!

Went for a combined birthday/anniversary celebration dinner on a Wednesday evening when it was very quiet. Excellent welcome and offered complimentary prosecco for our anniversary! Shared an amazing brucshetta starter then had the fillet steak and ribeye steak mains. Both were cooked perfectly and very tender. The clearly homemade hand cut chips were great and they happily substituted thin fries on one, as well as a different sauce on one (both were excellent). Service mainly from Liam was brilliant who really looked after us - we were really too full for deserts but while looking at the menu he brought us a mini chocolate brownie on a plate decorated with a chocolate "Happy Birthday" which was much appreciated! They normally have the excellent Cornish Orchards cider on draft but the tap wasn't working so had to have a bottle instead - still great, just more expensive!! Overall a really enjoyable evening with absolutely top quality food.

Very average. Steak was really fatty and chewy throughout. service was slow, took over an hour to get food. Was put on a table by in the back corner which felt like an afterthought area of the restaurant and because we weren’t in the middle we ended up forgotten about. Had to flag someone down every time we wanted a drink etc. overall not really blown away. Plus points are all of the people who served us were really nice, friendly and helpful! So couldn’t fault the people, just slow service and average food.
